GE Energy Smart 13W CFL Soft White Spiral Bulbs-(10 Pack), Model: 70909

I purchase these over the cheaper 8-pack because the 8-pack packaging is inadequate. I always end up with 1-2 broken bulbs. These are basically the same thing. This design is smaller, but they seem to put out the same amount of light as the larger design. I have yet to find a bulb that actually lasts as long as they claim and they always dim over time. They usually last about 2 years in an area that has the light on for ~4 hours per day.

I got these when they were around 85 cents each. All ten in the package work perfectly. They start up VERY quickly, very little turn-on delay. They also reach max brightness very quickly, so you don't notice the slow warm-up of the older CFL bulbs. They are physically small, which I wanted as we were using them in pendant lights. They have a nice warm color, produce little heat and fit perfectly. Good job GE.

One of my bulbs arrived broken. Not sure who to blame for that and if it's even worth returning because I'm worried the replacement would just arrive broken again, possibly with more than one damaged bulb the second time around. However, these were the cheapest bang for buck bulbs of this type I could find. The one broken bulb wasn't a deal breaker.

They work well and were delivered without breakage. They have a soft glow, yet produce a bright light. That may seem like a contradictory statement, to put it another way, they light my hall up very nicely without glare. I much prefer these to my last purchase.Since I just received them and replaced my hall light that blew in a recent power surge, I can't comment on their longevity or savings, but hope they live up to the name "Energy Smart".

Reasonably priced and it puts out a pleasing light.ADDENDUM: I have used the entire box. Two bulbs broke because of the side bubble that exists on each bulb. One turned out to be already broken but I didn't notice it originally and the other broke as I installed it. Three more bulbs shorted out on two different lamps as I installed them. subsequent bulbs from the same box worked fine. So, only six bulbs actually worked out for me.

I purchased a fixture that requires GU24 bulbs (with a 2-pin base). These bulbs are expensive and not widely available, so I purchased some adapters from Amazon  Toworld18 5pcs GU24 to E27/E26 LED Light Lamp Bulb Adapter Holder Socket . But, with the adapters in place, standard CFL bulbs were too long, extending past the top of the fixture. These GE Energy Smart 13W CFL Soft White bulbs, with their shorter envelope, fit perfectly, have a pleasant light, and are are very inexpensive. Problem solved!

I received numerous broken bulbs. GE's packaging of these bulbs (as distinguished from the seller's packaging for shipment) is poorly designed. It provides inadequate protection, virtually guaranteeing broken bulbs.Only purchase these bulbs if you enjoy opening boxes of broken glass and mercury, packing them back up, and returning them.

The package came right on time there was one bulb that was broken but I think that was because of packaging and transportation. But the bulb works perfect for a desk lamp and it's not super bright but its nice and mellow and you're not going to be able to light up an entire room but you're going to be able to light up a certain part of that room and it's a really great product.
