This was exactly what I wanted, almost. It is a perfect history of luchador culture and history. Talking about the creation the raw history, And the films. My one take back is that there should be pictures. With so many interesting masks and moves in luchador culture, I wanted to see them while it explained them. That's my only problem.

If you want to learn about the history of lucha libre... look somewhere else. I bought this as a Christmas gift for a big lucha fan in my family, and boy was it underwhelming when it arrived. The book is short, and I do mean short! I literally read it in 35 minutes! And if it wasn't for the large font, it probably would've been even smaller. I've seen children's books bigger than this. Not to mention the content was something I could've found with a simple online search. Underwhelming and disappointing

Its written like someone read a history of Lucha Libre wiki and wrote an essay summarizing.It can be read in 45 minutes. Not worth more than $3

I collect books on lucha libre. Saw this and had some Amazon gift cards leftover from Xmas. So glad I didn't spend actual cash on this. The book is 70 pages. And reads like a teen put off their book report until the night before it was due. So they chug 4 cans of Cotton Candy Bang! and spew out 70 pages of facts about Lucha.Sure you learn a bit about the big names,Santo/Mil Mascaras/Blue Demon/ETC and the big feds like CMLL/EMLL/AAA/IWRG but it all feels like someone took stuff of wiki and rewrote it.This will end up on the shelf of wrestling books and i doubt I ever look at it again. Maybe if the author had included some pictures it would be a bit better.

In wenigen Minuten soll man hier möglichst viel über die mexikanische Wrestlingvariante Lucha Libre lernen und ein wenig ist bei mir auch hängen geblieben, es gibt ja viel Interessantes zu lesen in diesem Buch. Aber leider ist es auch im Mittelteil vollkommen überladen. Welcher Wrestler wann gegen wen verloren oder gewonnen hat, kann sich wohl kaum einer merken. Zu viele Namen, Daten, Matches und anderes in zu kurzen Abständen. Vieles hat man vergessen, sobald es gelesen wurde und so ist leider nur der Anfang und das Ende dieses kleinen... Wie soll man es eigentlich nennen? Lehrbuch? Ratgeber? Also, leider helfen nur Anfang und Ende dieses Buchs wirklich weiter. Die Geschichte des Lucha Libre ist vollkommen überladen und hätte viel mehr Aufmerksamkeit in einem richtigen Buch mit Fotos und anderen Bildern verdient. Für mich, der ich gerade versuche möglichst viel über Lucha Libre und Luchadores zu lernen, war es ganz okay dieses Buch zu lesen. Ich werde sicher wieder einen Blick hinein werfen und wie gesagt, es ist was hängen geblieben. Nur leider wird man mit Input überschüttet, was zu Verwirrungen und auch Langeweile führt, da sich der Mittelteil wie eine Aufzählung liest.Ein weiteres Buch dieser Art werde ich mir nicht holen.
