I am always on the hunt for stocking holders that not only look good, but can hold a filled stocking. In our family we fill the stockings, and I mean fill them. So the holders have to be shaped with the S curling far enough back & under so that the stocking holder remains stable even if a heavily weighed stocking is hanging from it.It's hard to find regular stocking holders with the correct shape, but I just discovered Mantle Clips this past holiday season, and found that they work well. Most of our stocking holders go up on bookshelves instead of a mantle, and the one disadvantage to Mantle Clips is that they do require a little more clearance under the shelving (compared to a regular stocking holder). But the Mantle Clips stayed in place even when fully loaded. I'm happy to report that we had no stocking-holder-falling-on-my-mother-in-law's-head incident this year.I have four different Mantle Clip sets. In addition to their stable form, they have other advantages:-- The long arm on top has a slender plastic, almost rubbery, bar glued to its underside along part of its length. This gives the stocking holder a little extra "grip", to help stay in place.-- Mantle Clips do not take up much storage space. I just keep them in their original boxes. The ones with detachable decorations (3 of the 4 sets) take up hardly any room, too, because you take off the decorations for storage.-- All of the clips are sturdy metal. (Not all of the detachable decorations are metal.)Here are the four sets of Mantle Clips I used:A. I got the pewter embossed rope design. No decorations are included. I tried clipping on a silver decoration from another set. I needed stocking holders with a low profile for my mantle so as to obstruct the view of a TV which is mounted directly above. I also didn't want to pay a fortune for them. These really fit the bill. The reindeer is a separate piece that slides over the clip. The clip is flexible. My mantle is only about 2" deep where the clips are, and they fit fine. They are lined so they won't damage the finish. The clip is pretty heavy-duty metal. The reindeer attachment is plastic, but once it's on the clip, you can't tell, and they look great. If I'd been out shopping, I probably would have ended up with some very heavy brass ones that cost at least twice as much. At about $5/each, these cannot be beat. AND...the seller is great. USPS failed to deliver my first order to the correct address. The seller responded immediately and send a replacement order via UPS. UPS also screwed up because apparently they cannot read house numbers. We finally got the second shipment straightened out. The seller was very patient and accommodating.

By looking at pictures, I wasn’t able to figure out how these clips worked and I was hesitant to buy them. However, I took the plunge and bought them... and I am extremely glad that I did!They are made from a flexible metal so that you can mold the curve in front to hold on to just about any style mantle with moulding. They are reshapeable and reusable so you don’t need to buy more every year and you can move them if they aren’t in the perfect spot.These clips are fantastic and hold far more weight that traditional mantle hooks that can barely hold a stocking without falling off the mantle. We have goofy stuffed stockings that look like stuffed animals and they are heavy without any fun toys, candy, and other stocking stuffers. These mantle clips hold up the stockings without any issues.I do a 24 Days of Christmas thing and put treats in each stocking every night. The mantle clip was able to hold the stocking filled with two small juice bottles and 3 small liquor samplers for a drink mix stocking stuffer. I was very impressed that it held everything.I could not be happier with the purchase!

These are ok. They are temporary for me so I don't mind, but it you want something long term I would get better quality. The clips themselves are metal, but the reindeer are silver plastic. You can't tell once you have them up, and they are also smaller then I was expecting. Fine for what I needed but there are better options.

they work and are sold on a luck basis it looks like. I got the two and one of the plastic reindeer was broken so the sent me a replacement hanger with a metal deer...I don't know why the difference or if there is a cost difference but it is what it says it is. A place to park your stocking even when it is full.

Good quality, nice shine. Better than expected after reading reviews after I purchased them. Fit very well on mantle and the reindeer detail was cute. Just what I was looking for.

Kind of cheap and clips to attach deer seem like they will break easily but saying that they are cute and so far working of to hang our stocking on

I love the look of these stocking holders. My previous ones where too large blocking the front of the TV. These are perfect and so cute.
