Great for light contracting, make sure you have adequate amperage though!
I got this a few years back for some concrete removal... it was a bit underpowered for running a small air hammer, but got the job done.I had problems with the on-board breaker going off. Now that I use it almost daily for building Tuff Sheds, the flaw is not in the machine, but where you are pulling power from. My garage's 20 amp circuit has other things running on it, and it tends to underpower the compressor which leads to difficulties. Now that I've used the same compressor on a variety of sites, it became obvious that the problem with it stalling and shutting down is due to the power source, not the oil or some sort of compressor defect. Manufacturer recommends never using it with an extension cord.Since figuring out the amperage issue, I've used the "Little compressor that could" on a variety of larger projects without issue. It will work all day without hassle. And a small compressor + 2000w generator is cheaper than a gas generator. The bonus is that I have spare air in the tank in case a trailer tire goes down on the way home. -Note- you are supposed to drain the tank daily, I do this when I am unpacking tools after the day's work... some oil/water may come out when you drain it.I picked mine up from Northern Tool, and they were good about helping me figure out my initial difficulties (new user errors). Since then, this thing has been a little workhorse. Not horribly noisy, and as long as we have a good 15+ amps going, fuss-free. Remember to check oil daily though.
