A quality product
I make and sell tables and use this on the top. It dries super fast and leaves a nice finish that is very scratch resistant. I read about it on a woodworking website and gave it a try because of the fact that it doesn't smell. But I'm impressed with the durability of the finish. I was using the satin and it was just a bit too shiny so I've changed over to matte and I prefer it for my rustic/industrial style furniture. As I said, this is very low odor. It dries so fast that I can put another coat on within a couple hours. I put about five coats on for a table top and that seems to do the trick and leave a super durable finish.

Amazing!
I am not one to write reviews usually, but because others' reviews were so important in me choosing this product, I want to help those who might be skeptical.A bit of background on the situation:I recently moved to a new rental apartment and within a few days of living here I noticed something terrible: the hardwood floors smelled like dog pee!! I am not kidding when I say I tried EVERYTHING: enzyme cleaners, cleaning vinegar, hydrogen peroxide (this was the most effective, but did not solve the situation)... everything. I reached out to my landlord and he sent over some cleaning professionals for a quote; their solution: you have to refinish and seal the floors for the smell. This was a great solution except for one flaw: I already was moved in (and have a pet) and it would take days to do it and the toxic smell of the polyurethane would last a while. It was not possible UNTIL I found Vermont Natural Coatings Polywhey. Reading about this product made me hopeful especially because of the low VOCs, and the fact that it was green, natural, and non toxic (all things that are extremely important to me). So I reached out to my landlord and asked if I could apply this myself and he (having nothing to lose) said yes.Well THIS SOLVED MY PROBLEM!! I used one gallon of polywhey which was enough to apply two coats to a 350 sq ft area (living/dining). The finish went on really easily as I applied it with a 9" floor applicator sponge (Behr). It took me 45 minutes to apply a coat to the whole downstairs and it dried within 30 minutes!!! (It was 85 degrees and 25% humidity that day which really helped). Within an hour of the first coat I applied the second coat without a problem (it also dried in 30 minutes). Within 3 hours of having started the project I was able to walk (barefoot) on the floor without a problem or damaging the finish. Not only was the product easy to apply and forgiving, it also had a minimal smell (similar to acrylic craft paint) that only lasted a few hours; to my surprise, with the windows open, I was able to sleep upstairs without any toxic fumes or smell issues that very same night (with all the windows open). It's now been a week, the poly whey is fully cured and the smell of dog pee emanating from the wood is gone! I was a little worried that it would reactivate when the humidity got high again, but it was 82% humidity here a few nights ago and NO SMELL of either polyurethane or dog pee. What's more, the floors look great!!! If you are worried about toxic chemicals, dangerous VOCs, have pets, or children, THIS IS AMAZING and I can't recommend it enough.

Easy, fast-drying and low odor
No complaints! I brushed 3 coats over a 130 SF bedroom floor. Each coat went on quickly, I lightly sanded between coats and was done in a day.

Yellows!!
I would have loved to love this product being that it is an all natural, non-toxic way to finish my painting jobs, but it does unfortunately yellow and quite quickly. It didn't even yellow over time like most polyurethanes do. It took the drying time!!!! Fortunately, I tested it on one side of a 2-sided painted table top so I could flip it over and use the non-yellowed side on top. Very disappointed and will not be using any more of the product anywhere in my house as I don't have a surface (including my pine floor it was intended for!) I wouldn't mind being yellow!!! Too bad!!!

DOES NOT YELLOW
I've used this product on many things - but the most impressive is our 9' butcher block island top. Originally we read that we should oil it ... BIG mistake! It turned yellow... and as you can see we have "golden oak" stained pine flours with polyurethane on them - which yellows... so my wife was super disappointed that the bar top turned golden, too. So we set up a curtain and sanded for 8 hours and got back to the white look of maple, and then brushed on this stuff. it would have been better if it was sprayed, but if you work fast, and not too big of an area, it will be 90% smooth. We used satin so it doesn't shine much. We don't cut on it as it will cut, but for the most part, it holds up to the high traffic of 5 people eating around this thing every day. I've done alot of wood projects and LOVE how it has no odor within 15 minutes of drying - so I can literally (not figuratively) finish building something (like a head board) - stain it with my acrylic paints and water, let it dry for an hour and then top it with two coats of this stuff, and am done with the finishing process in 2 hours... as opposed to 2 days with polyurethane ! You'll love it. NO SMELL! Easy clean up. Best stuff ever!

Easy, fast and beautiful.
This product is all it is touted to be. It is very easy to use and apply, dries quickly, very little odor if any and provides a beautiful hard finish. Won't ever use other products again if I can help it.

Matte finish nearly identical to Satin
The quality of this product is as good as the other 2 finishes that they produce. My only disappointment is that I wanted less of a "sheen" than Satin, but they are nearly identical in "sheen."

Great nontoxic polyurethane .
Super easy to use and water cleanup. Self leveling on floor and also furniture . Just have to do one coat and let dry before adding coats. I've used on wide pine floors. Many pieces of furniture. Added to pre existing worn wood furniture - Ethan Allen coffee table for example- just to protect from the kids. Love this and only poly I would ever buy.
