nice selection
I'm either an advanced beginner or early intermediate player and I really like this book for the times I need a break from the lesson book (I'm mid-way into Alfred's Adult book #2). A struggle I've always had is getting bored with practice pieces so now I'm back to piano as an adult, thus able to choose to play what I like on a given day, every so often I take a break from the workbook and play other pieces, for variety; this book serves as a selection of beautiful pieces that are paced with the level I'm at in book #2.

Understandable Piano Book
This book is an amazing intermediate piano book to follow. The music selections are fun to play but yet still makes you think about the note constructions. We use this book in my Adult Senior Piano Class.

EASY AND PAINLESS
Pieces were well selected to please any age : Old show tunes, folk songs and classical numbers. These are all written in an easy form and may produce the song with little practice. These pieces are a far cry from the music study books of years ago. These are high interest but easy to accomplish for young adults, preteens and older adults.Student would need some instruction in notation, scales and agility exercises to profit from the selections. I particularly liked the way the fingering was placed since fingering is always problematic for even adult beginners. This book was Amazon purchased. Jewel

Fun!
Lots of songs to pick from. Taught myself to read and play music. I get bored with the same old ditties in the instruction books. This makes practice, practice, practice fun.

enjoying it
i am enjoying this book very much. especially the arrangement of Claire De Lune in C Major and some of the other classical pieces arranged for easier piano. This is about the "intermediate" level that most "easy piano" is supposed to be at, but all pieces are very playable.

Great for adults and younger students
This is a great compilation for young and old students who need more repertoire in a variety of genres. Perfect for the advanced beginner who wants to sight read and move thru pieces fast.

Piano Course
The item arrive in excellent condition. It is a bit advanced for me. I really needed a more basic book, maybe a volume one versus a volume two.

Recommended for people learning how to play.
This is not the first Alfred's music book I have bought. I have the basic course books and found them really useful. As for this one it's really good because; the music is a reasonable size and easy to read, the songs sound right (some music one buys is simplified too far and sounds poor), there are odd hints to explain more obscure musical symbols (eg // for small pause). Finally the price was good. I would prefer to see the tempo expressed in beats per minute to give an exact idea of the authors' aspiration for the sound, but this is not vital to the use and enjoyment of the music. Besides which I can't play very fast anyway.

Piano favourites
A good selection and just what I wanted to supplement lessons however, a little disappointed that there are several pieces that are in book 1. I know they are at a higher level but still ...

Usual Alfred's standard - excellent
excellent, clear book. Easy to read and play, but not too easy for the level.
