Not very sturdy.
Like it very much so do the birds

my birds prefer the other feeders
comes apart too easily and dumps seeds on ground, which is a lot. The birds in my garden wont use it, much preferring the other feeders.

Birds loving it
The media could not be loaded. Very large and I would normally fill it up completely. However, the design is susceptible to wind blowing the seeds from the tray and emptying the entire feeder! The base is a bit loose I found and the top once screwed in takes 2 hands to unscrew to refill. That being said it is the best feeder I have bought. I have put the feeder into a retro birdcage on a stand and the birds love it. I will often have 4 or 5 birds inside the cage feeding at once and 10 on the floor where the seeds have fallen. A bird bath next to it allows the birds to treat the area as a playground.

Huge capacity is welcome
A large local population of small attractive birds emptied a good sized conventional seed feeder once a day. The intolerable chore of refilling it once a day was resolved by this feeder, which holds a TEN-DAY supply! The narrow rail and seed-well discourage large birds and reduces scatter of seeds to a negligible level. Some care in refilling is needed as the feeder comes apart freely at the bottom when cable tension is released. This is best: (1) remove the feeder from the branch for refilling. (2) Hold the feeder over your seed-supply container and turn it upside down, letting any excess seeds fall back into the supply container. (3) Keeping it upside down, leave the dome locked onto the body, lift off the tray (brushing it out if necessary) and refill the body easily through the wide opening where the feed tray normally sits. This fills the dome completely, so giving maximum capacity. Then replace the tray and whilst putting tension on the cable to hold everything together, turn it quickly right side up and rehang it. Replacing the compression hook with a carabiner makes taking down and putting up easier.

Not for me
The first time I filled this feeder and hung it up I thought it was great. However as it emptied it would come apart and whatever seed was left would fall to the floor. On trying again I found the lid slid out too easy, I would lose the seed again so it is not fit for purpose unfortunately. It needs a redesign so that the base also secured it and it’s not just held in place with the weight of the seed!

Very bad design, base tabs break off when closing the top, seed all over floor. BAD DESIGN
Just can’t twist the top to close without the base also dismantling very bad design…have tried 3 times this happens each time and another person tried, same thing happened.

Good but could be better
Really nice capacity and looks good too but.... (1) with just a little accidental twist the base easily comes apart from the middle section which is not what you want when you've just filled it up with seeds, and (2) the lid can be infuriatingly fiddly to get fixed back into place once you remove it to top the thing up.

Happy Birdies
Love this bird feeder can fill it up and I don't have to go to the bird table to feed birds everyday. It holds a lot of food and I have put a coconut mulch cover on the top as an extra roof so the rain doesn't get into the food channels and get wet and clog up. Think its brilliant ands do the birds. Also it stops all the big birds from stealing all the food they can't cling to the feeder ledge like the little ones. Have an open wooden one at the back of the house so the big birds use that one. Am very happy now and so are all the birds. Would defiantly recommend this feeder.
