Pretty good
Quite a few typos that irritated me, but the overall content was good. I was personally far more interested in the mythology and their stories than some of the information included in the history section (the detailed break down of their types of boats was a bit of a yawn-fest for me). If you want a quick overview of the Viking age, I'd recommend this book. However, if you are more interested in their stories and culture, I'd perhaps look elsewhere first.

I did not get much out of it.
Not an easy read. Too much information in a small book. Not a "story", but more a record of events.

Sorry I don't like to be negative
Is this a book? Badly constructed use of some very pretentious nouns and adjectives - presumably it is self-published, nothing in this book that couldn't be got from Wikipedia. Sorry I don't like to be negative.

Good book, well written
I prefer actual history as opposed to "Hollywood history". While it is entertaining, Hollywood history tends to lean towards sensationalising certain aspects of history. This book shows the "Viking" people as they were. Also, their never actually referred to themselves as Vikings. The term Viking was an activity, not a group of people. Good book, well written.

At first I found myself a little bit disappointed upon opening the packaging and pulling out a very thin looking book, for £13 odd I thought it would be at least the same size as Daniel McCoy's The Viking Spirit. However, despite flying through the book in less than 5 hours I found it to be a really concise and engaging read, very much to the point and really quite informative, it was much easier to read than some of the other Viking books I've bought recently and I would say in my own opinion for what it's worth is that this is probably the best introduction to the Viking world i have read. I would give this 5 stars but I think given the price there could have been a little more included, even a few pictures or timeline examples etc or if the book were to be no more than £10 as it is.

Good for a beginner
I did enjoy this book, the best thing about it is also paradoxically the worst thing. It briefly covers everything you would need to know about Vikings and their mythology but it briefly covers them. I was looking for something a bit more in depth and it just wasn't here unfortunately. It would be fantastic for a newcomer to the subject though. And for that I would highly recommend it.

Spelling & Grammar
Gave up after first chapter. Poor Grammar, even spelling mistakes. A turn off!

An informative read
I thought this book was quite informative on a period of history I love. The only minus point would have to be it's length. It's far too short! However, for a beginner, it provides the reader with the basics. It's then up to them to pursue it further I guess.
