Uncoated Kentucky Blue Grass Seed in a really nice cloth bag
I've had real problems getting the coated seeds to germinate. The home centers only carry coated seeds. I think the coating really is to take up space, add weight and to maybe protect the seed from critters that might eat it. It just doesn't germinate as well for me. I live in the north east and Kentucky Blue grass is said to be a good choice for our climate. I was surprised at how nice the cloth bag it comes in is. It"s a pretty small bag, perfect for reseeding bare spots.

For the price, good KBG cultivars
Today is 7/20/2021. I’ll start by saying I have not yet planted the seed. My plan all along was to get the seed, review the seed label to check cultivars along with other crop and weed seed. Let me also say I only paid $10 for the 1.5 pound bag, which in the world of straight bluegrass seed is cheap. Scotts is ask $20 for three pound bag, which is 50% inert matter and none to impressive or cultivars.I have attached a picture showing the seed label. The cultivars are Ashland, Quartz, Tumalo, and Mazama. The only one I knew was Mazama, which is a highly rated bluegrass. All 4 cultivars appeared on the Vista Seed Partners LLC website when I was researching the cultivars. They are not all NTEP champs, but again for the price I am pleased.Weed seed came in at 0.09%. That might seem low, but top quality seed should be 0%. I am planning to grow this in a small plot over the next year and see how the bluegrass does in my northern Virginia climate. If all goes well it’ll be nuked with glyphosate and a new yard established with bluegrass from top distributors.Last thing, other crop seed. As you can see in the picture the other crop seed is not legible. The stitching goes right through the numbers. All the % numbers should add to 100%. Summing them actually totals 100.01%. This could be a rounding error which means other crop seed would be 0%. That would be great as I prefer not to introduce poa trivialis or orchard grass to my lawn.I’ll update after planting! Currently rated 4 stars.

VERY POOR GROWING RESULTS, MOSTLY WEEDS
We are experienced gardeners who have worked on our lawns over the years and this is unfortunately the only time we had such poor results. We bought 5 bags. A high percentage of what grew were weeds that were not common to our lawn until then, and they've proliferated. We devoted a lot of time to try to carefully grow this seed / restore this part of the lawn and are very disappointed. Although there's always a chance we got a rogue batch, we recommend this to others.

Great product, I can't wait to get more in the spring.
This grass seed was amazing. I didn't even have to do any special. I used some inexpensive top soil on top of my existing clay soil and spread the seed around. I saw results in 1 week. I was looking to find a good brand to use next spring. I plan on getting enough to cover my 2 acre lot. By the way, it lookes great and even managed to grow under a puppies trampling paws and a surprise tropical storm 1 week after it was planted.

Most of the seeds didn't germinate
I ordered the 5000 sq. ft. bag of the grass seed at my husband's request - we still ended up short. So he supplemented with a similar grass seed blend purchased from Home Depot. While the Home Depot seeds germinated (estimate at over 90%), over half of this Velvet Blue Grass Seed Blend has shown no results at all. Very disappointing.

Best grass seed
Grows not so fast but the grass is very green and looks good and healthy.

Could be good...
Very little actually sprouted. Most of what sprouted, didn’t survive... what did survive looked great, but it didn’t live through the summer. I might try to make some sod patches out of it and lay those down. Will update.

Beautiful color
Bought this seed back in January, to fill in a few spots after removing a flower bed. It’s now April, and this area has grown in beautifully on one side or the gate, and not at all on the other. Really weird. However, I love this seed! It has a rich color and looks stunning!
