Very tight fit, but I got them on and they seem to be doing the job.

I ordered these as the fittings had pulled out of the end of the bearing buddies I had before these. These do actually seem to be built a little heavier duty with a bit more spring pressure to push the grease in as you drive.

Very well built and machined bearing protectors which are easy to grease and even have a springloaded grease overflow port so you know when to stop greasing them. They are however very hard to install because the chrome plating adds a little extra thickness and I had to file a taper around the mating surface so it fits in straight. Then I hammered it in, It takes a fair amount of force to hammer in and it has to go in perfectly straight. You should definitely use a piece of wood because these take a lot of force to install, or if you have one a plastic / rubber mallet. Installing it without a protective soft material (such as a piece of wood, plastic or rubber) you would certainly deform the metal.

Great and easy to put in

I measured my hub with calipers and ordered the matching size. I couldn't get them to pound in the hub. I had to grind a chamfer in the edge and even grind more off the OD of the mating surface. I finally get it to pound in and fill it with grease. Then the grease starts squeezing out, right next to the nipple. I take it apart and notice there's daylight showing between the hex on the nipple and the sealing plate. Same issue with both caps in the package. Luckily I found a nipple with a bigger hex and added a plain washer on the back, instead of the locking washer. Tightened it up with red loctite. Then it sealed, but yeeeeesh. I should have bought the more expensive ones with the black caps and made it a 10 min install instead of an hour.

Seem to be good had no issues putting them on. Work like there suppose to.

These look great and are good quality. As other reviews indicated they are not easy to install. I had to grind a slight bevel on the inside rim in order to get them on. Even then, it took a few solid whacks using a framing hammer and a block of oak. (I found that a piece of 2X4 was too soft). Using the oak block still protected the finish but transmitted the force necessary to get them started. They should consider bevelling and making them slightly larger inside diameter. Overall though I am very satisfied. Highly recommended.

I think You gotta be a little bit mechanically inclined to install it because it’s a pretty tight fit. Make sure you don’t hammer on it with a hammer put something over top first like a piece of wood drive it in check your real bearing nuts that you have no play once you’re finished installing then fill it up with grease until the plunger starts moving Product for the money

I did have an issue receiving this item but it had nothing to do with the item. it vas à delivery issue.The item is of quality material and very sturdy. The sizing is slightly off as it was impossible to hammer in place. After taper grinding the lip it did finally installed properly. Other than this it is working perfectly as advertised and as well as any locally sourced item but at a fraction of the cost.

Used on my boat trailer, tapped into place easily and snug fit with the hub. Arrived fast and are affordable.

Some reviewers say they had trouble getting them started and had to grind a bevel on the front edge to get them to start. I also found it difficult to get them to start when going straight in but if I started them on an angle, then tapped on the high edge, they went in well.I also pre-packed them with grease and as they seated the grease came out the small release hole and I didn’t need to use the grease gun at all.I recommend them!
