A glimpse into the reality of innovation
The book captures what smaller businesses and individual innovators and inventors come up against in a global market. In a world ruled even more by corporations and large global conglomerates this book remains ever insightful into the trails and tribulations of innovation. The learnings throughout the book remain relevant today and for years to come.A side note on the 1-star reviews. It is a clear shame to see petty individuals airing out their own grudges with personal attacks and blatant ignorance through the likes of an amazon book review. Wouldn't be surprised if they never even read the book. Might be a good idea for them to read it given their remarks. Truly not "high-road" people.

Insightful and intriguing
I didn’t think I’d take so much away from the book when a friend turned me on to it, but was pleasantly surprised with the outcome. Biggest thing I walked away with was a fresh understanding around a new idea space.

Have my money?
I'm still short my last paycheck from CyberCar. I only recently found out you're supposed to report those kinds of problems. Maybe you'll never read this, but to anybody looking to this man for business advice: don't.

The real innovator's dilemma
From the man who brought wireless phone connectivity and the Internet to cars, IdeaJacked tells a tale familiar to all entrepreneurs, inventors, engineers and idea people. The battle to defend your baby against tech poachers even as you struggle to find those first customers. (In the words of the O'Jays: "They Smile in Your Face.") The book starts with a visit to Dabendorf, Germany, where a company that has reverse engineered Kennedy's solution has just launched its IPO thanks, in large part, to its success with the borrowed technology. But it gets better. IdeaJacked is must reading for any supplier in the automotive industry. To be successful you need big, well-funded friends and great technology. The industry chews up dozens if not hundreds of suppliers every year, many falling by the wayside as they patiently wait for revenue tied up in 3-4 year product development cycles. That Cellport has survived at all is amazing in retrospect and the author must - to this day - rue decisions made in the past at critical junctures. Cellport's multiple legal failures is a huge red flag for resorting to lawsuits to resolve conflicts. In the automotive industry as with many others you often lose when you win. A very compelling story told by someone who has seen it all - in fact, he made a lot of what is happening today in telematics possible.

Hijacked Ideas or Patents = IdeaJacked
In the rapidly changing wireless world, Cellport Systems created patented technologies which enabled cell phones to be used in vehicles in a convenient and hands-free manner. The company then created the first internet-connected vehicle. What Cellport didn't expect was that their patented technology would be knocked off, used without authorization and how far the company would have to go to protect their ideas, patents and resulting intellectual property. IdeaJacked is an engaging, first-hand look at how today's business partners might become tomorrow's competitors - and CEO Pat Kennedy tells the story in a conversational and thought-provoking way. This is a real, behind-the-scenes view of development, success, near-failure and success again - one every entrepreneur and business owner needs to know to keep their own ideas from getting "IdeaJacked".
