OrbitSunMate Hose-End (Combo Fitting)

I will stick with Nelson brand, they work well and seem better made. This one is brittle plastic, arrived with a broken piece loose in the envelope it was mailed in. Plus, it came with no instructions (which shouldn't be an issue), but there was an additional piece in the envelope that I have no idea where or how it was to fit into assembly.

As an avid gardener, I can tell you that this mender works quite well if you install it correctly. It does require that you match it properly to the inside diameter of the hose, a careful and "square" cutting of the hose-end, as well as a fair amount of hand strength to tighten it down properly. (If your hand strength is lacking, you can use two adjustable pliers to CAREFULLY tighten it down or two jar opener "grippers" like  Fox Run Rubber Jar Opener .) Once you've cut the hose squarely, apply a little Vaseline petroleum jelly to the interior of the hose, fully insert the mender, tighten it down firmly, then test for a good seal. If it leaks a little, slightly tighten it again. While it is a bit bulky, you'll find that it does its job well. These menders have always worked for my hoses. I used to get them from Walmart but couldn’t find any recently.

5/8" high quality hose. Repaired correctly. Still leaks. This product did not work.

These hose ends are easy to install and they don't leak. I wish they were brass or stainless steel but for the money you can't go wrong.

They look kind of flimsy but maybe they are tougher then they look. They were very easy to install and didn't leak so time will tell.

Fits and holds for a while, but no matter how hard I twist it on the house eventually comes loose... Doesn't seem to have enough "grip" on the hose.

I was quite surprised at how easy it was to install this on my garden hose. I thought for sure it would not hold and would leak but after a few weeks it continues to work well, no leaks.

Ordered the wrong item...but will keep it ...Looks and feels sturdy ...even though it is plastic.

It doesn't hold the hose properly. It might hold for a few hours but under pressure or in the sun it just lets go and you have a mess or a big water bill.

Broken after only 3 weeks, cheaply made.Save your money and get a better quality one with metal connector and clamp
