Read King Hall instead
It’s Twilight. New girl is supposed to be shy and stuff but two hottest guys instantly want her for no reason at all, and I mean it’s instant. I’m only half way through and I’m forcing myself to continue but this is just stupid and awful. Please just read King Hall by Scarlett Dawn instead. More mature, but at least the romance is organic for once. This other crap is so tired. And Jaxon is such a boring character. He’s like every other academy romance guy. Supposedly hot and scary (cuz HS guys are so intimidating?) yet is inexplicably drawn to and nice to awkward new girl. It’s so stupid! Seriously the Forever Evermore series is so good compared to this, with good characters and realistic relationships that develop over time.

Not the greatest
I had high hopes for this book, thinking just maybe it'd capture me the way Twilight did. Sadly, it comes nowhere close to the Twilight saga. The writing is very basic and, at times, annoying. The author uses the abbreviation af a lot and I honestly don't know anyone who actually talks in abbreviations. Also, the main character is another weak girl who falls for a guy just because of his looks. Seriously, within a week, she's madly obsessed with him. I'm not going to say "in love" because, seriously, it's been a week. We learn in the beginning of the book that she lost both of her parents. Throughout the book she gets emotional thinking about them, which is understandable. Yet, as soon as the boy confesses something horrible he's done, she literally says she aches for him more than her dead parents, after only knowing him a WEEK! She doesn't know him all that well because their interactions have been pretty short, but readers are supposed to believe they have this magnificent connection? I hate when an author doesn't spend the time building a relationship and just expects readers to believe the rushed story. Also, there's a scene where the boy (Jaxon?) attacks another boy and Grace is yelling at him to stop, but in the very next paragraph she's completely okay that he did it, that the boy deserved it. Made no sense why one minute she'd want Jaxon to stop and the next it didn't matter. I really wish author's would stop writing these protagonists that lose all common sense as soon as a cute boy comes into the picture. I honestly didn't care for Grace at all and will not be continuing on with the series.

Poorly written.
I'm not sure why majority of these comments have high praises for this book, but believe the comments that actually critic it because they are spot on. The only reason why I finished the book was to find out the whole "secret," but I honestly skimmed most of it because the writing is god-awful. How this woman is a best-selling author, I have no idea. If you're interested in a basic tween main character, who has no real personality and talks in abbreviations, then this is the book for you. If you want to save yourself some useful time, please move on to something actually worthwhile.

Perfect cure for my reading slump.
I have been in a reading slump for awhile now and Crave was just what I need to get back to reading. I stayed up to the wee hours of the morning as I couldn't put it down. The twists and turns kept me guessing and the ending left me with pins and needles waiting for the next book in the series to be release. Excellent Read!

The teen in me is rejoicing with this story
Let me just say this book is a mix of Twilight with the show Legacy's and Monster High mixed all in an extraordinary package that is going to be the best teen paranormal romance of the decade! I had to stop reading at the end be cause I did not want this to be over yet! Jaxon and Grace are the new Edward and Bella! An elite school in Alaska. Grace is 'accidentally' getting hurt everyday. Then things start to get bad and then she finds out shes in a school of monsters! Monsters are real and she goes to class with them. Stuck in a castle full of beings trying to kill her because shes human or so she and everyone else thinks. Theres alot more going on in the walls of Katsmere and I'm going to spend the next year waiting for book 2 like I need it to breathe!!!

Best YA of 2020
I normally never review things... But CRAVE is just THAT good! From the moment I reached the Academy, and got caught up in Jaxon and Grace, I couldn't stop reading. When I reached the end, I just wanted to read all over again. #bestbookever #love

Abysmal
I don’t know what book everyone else has been reading to give it 5 star reviews, but it’s certainly not the one I was.£6 isn’t a lot but it is for this book. Honestly don’t waste your time. I got halfway through and gave up.I’ve read countless books, many following a similar idea as this one. Some are drivel, some are torture, some are mediocre and a few are superb. This was torture. My brain is aching from the abuse.Plot - non existentCharacters - so cliche and stereotypical. There was not one character I could remotely like. If you want a prime example of one dimensional characters, read this.World building - nonePredictable - 1000%.

Go with this and don't compare it to others
I stumbled across this book whilst whizzing down my Goodreads feed and someone else had rated it really highly and likened it to the Twilight series (which I loved), so I did a bit of research and discovered that other people also loved it and that the Kindle version was only 99p. I was wanting a lighter read and a YA vampire book fitted that bill perfectly so I started it straight away. Our main character is Grace. We meet Grace just after the death of her parents in a car accident, as she is moving into her Uncle’s boarding school, Katmere Academy, in Alaska to continue her education under the guardianship of her Uncle and the friendship of her cousin Macy. Grace soon comes to the attention of the bad boy at school, Jaxon, and she feels instantly attracted to him. As expected by the blurb in the book, it’s not all as it seems and we soon realise that there are strange forces at play and that someone is trying to kill Grace. Is this book a mashup of Twilight and Harry Potter? Yes.Are the characters stereotypical? Yes.Is the storyline predictable and nothing new or original? Yes.Did I devour the book in two days and think about it when I wasn’t reading it? Yes.Although this is nothing new (just a few f-bombs that Twilight and Harry Potter doesn’t have) I was absorbed by the story. The characters are predictable and pretty unimaginative, the scene setting isn’t awesome - all we are told about her beautiful Alaskan setting is that it is cold - the strong bad boy falling for the fragile human girl has been done 100 times before BUT this book had something. I don’t know if it was because I was looking for something easy and effortless but there was something that kept me reading.Grace was annoying but strong, Jaxon was self-obsessed (so much so that Grace actually calls him out on it) and there are ridiculously sloppy scenes that go on forever. But the death of Grace’s parents was handled well, there was a well written fight scene, an interesting twist, a hint of more surprises to come and it ends on a great cliffhanger.I think you just need to enjoy this book and go with it, if you compare it to others or overthink it, you will be disappointed and will miss out on a solid read. It’s only got a PG rating, so nothing too sexy happens but there is a biting scene that I would argue was on the edge of probably what is allowed within that rating. There are 3 bonus chapters at the end of 3 of the scenes told from Jaxon’s POV which gave an interesting spin, although I didn’t miss the fact that Twilight did this too. I won’t rush out to buy the next book in the series but I will add it to my wish list.

Love Love Love 💕
I’m so looking forward to when this becomes a movie !!! this it’s like the first book I’ve actually been able to read without getting bored half way through and giving up xD and for people saying it’s like twilight you are sooooo wrong maby read the book before you judge the girl in this is not shy and frail she strong willed and confident and not afraid to call people out on their shit and the dynamic between her and Jaxon is electric and keeps you on the edge of your seat especially after I finished it and read a few chapters from Jaxons point of view which made it so much more interesting and I loved it xD can’t wait to know what happens next I read this in 2 days I feel kind of empty now it’s over xD this pics are who I see the characters as kind of

Vampires in a boarding school... Yes Please!
If, like me, you grew up on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, The Vampire Diaries and Twilight, then read this book...like NOW!I read this book at the beginning of lockdown after being stuck in a massive reading slump for years. This book reignited my love of YA books and fantasy! It's such an addictive read - I couldn't get enough! I've already pre-ordered the sequel, Crush. The story follows Grace who finds herself at Katmere Academy, her Uncle's boarding school in Alaska, and totally drawn in by the school's most well known student, Jaxon Vega. But, in true YA Fantasy fashion, things are not as they seem...The characters are fantastic - Grace is very likeable and understandable, Jaxon is every YA fantasy reader's dream and we see other characters, like Flynn and her cousin who add nicely to the mix. We have a range of mythical creatures represented at the school, including one that's very unique! (I'll not spoil that)I adored the three chapters at the end that conveyed pivotal scenes from Jaxon's POV - it was a welcome bonus!A well-written and enjoyable book!

Bite me .... please :)
I’ll be honest, to start with I thought this was going to be a poorer version of Twilight and while it was along those lines there was nothing poor about it. Just before the halfway mark the guy I’d been wanting to slap up to that point, suddenly showed his true colours and my stomach literally flipped over. From that point on the relationships between the characters got much more intense and interesting and the action definitely picked up the pace. I loved everything about this book and as much as I love Twilight I much prefer Grace and Jaxon’s personalities to those of Bella and Edward. Grace was sassy and ‘real’ while I loved how Wolff’s vampires definitely had a more human side to them who even had heartbeats. The ending was a total surprise. While I had an idea Grace was going to be special in some way, I did not think that would be it. Off now to read book 2 immediately 😊
