The bulb is beautiful when lit. It does not give off a lot of light; it is more for a beautiful effect. It is worth noting that the box says “Do not use in totally enclosed luminaries”. I believe the reason for that may be that it needs to have ventilation to keep it’s internal circuit from overheating-perhaps the supplier can better explain why it cannot be totally enclosed. So if you plan to use it in a totally enclosed fixture, this probably is not the right bulb. Other reviewers spoke to the effect of the bulb so I won’t repeat that except to say that it is a cool 3D space like appearance.

The lamp itself isn't very bright and is not a good choice for illumination purposes, but the effect is very cool! There is no motion effects, the look is static. When the bulb is off (or in a brightly lit environment), the bulb is silver and some what reflective. It did the trick for what I needed.

They look great but unfortunately are so dim you can barely see the light. Bought for my outside garage lights for Christmas. Will be returning

This bulb is five stars or one-star depending on your use. The one-star reviews are true, it puts out almost zero illumination. I'm using it as an accent lamp in an unusual base on a table and the bulb is what makes it a conversation piece. Definitely worth the five stars. When the bulb is off in daylight it is highly reflective metallic silver. When it is on it is deep blue with lighter blue stars and blue dots. If you have seen an infinity mirror this bulb produces the same effect. The stars have actual depth and are not just light shining through a cutout. When used for an accent lamp it is a great addition to my living room. Yes, that's a 35mm film camera converted into a lamp.

I like the concept of the bulb, but unfortunately, it doesn’t glow as brightly as I’d hoped. I bought it in hopes of having it as a nightlight bulb, and although it does glow, I find that my flashlight on my phone is much brighter than it, and it doesn’t really brighten even the smallest of rooms much. Cute concept, with cool stars, but I’d recommend using multiple lamps, or having a string of them to light up a whole room to create an ambience. Using one lamp with just one bulb doesn’t do the job.

You're not going to use this to light up a room but it is excellent for an accent light or even a night light. It is perfect for a space themed room (I used it for my homemade rocketship lamp).

It's pretty but I was looking for an outdoor garage light for our christmas display. I was really disappointed by the products brightness level.
