Good book
The reason I gave this book 4 stars instead of 5 is the author didn't seem to transition from character to character and scene to scene very well towards the end of the book. That being said, I enjoyed the book. It was fast paced, interesting and relatable. I plan to read the next in the series.

Keeps you guessing
Good characterizations. Intriguing mystery. Fast paces and easy read. I finished it in one sitting. Emma Griffin is a good leading character.

A good mystery
I like the plot, it was a little bit difficult to figure out the killer, and I am excited that there are other books in the series to develop the main characters.

"The Girl In Cabin 13" by A.J. Rivers is a MUST read!!!
Rivers blends interesting and believable characters into a gripping story that captivates the reader and leaves them hungry for more. Reading "The Girl In Cabin 13" is like watching a good movie that you don't want to end! Rivers builds in unexpected twists and plots that keeps the pages turning. She brilliantly intertwines FBI/police facts, chilling mystery, great suspense, witty dialog, and even a touch of welcomed romance into a story that is almost impossible to not get involved it. Her subplots and back stories allow the reader to really get to know the characters, which not only feeds the story line, but makes one feel like those characters become a part of your own personal circle of friends. These subplots and backstories continue into her next book "The Girl That Vanished" (review to follow after the read is complete!). Rivers has mastered her craft into an art. She paints scenes that entice and entertain the reader. Her powerful brushstrokes of words and form keep the stories moving and a joy to read! She will leave you wanting to read everything she has written!!Additional Information:The artwork and the title of the book is what originally drew me into her web. They say don't judge a book by its cover but I do. That cabin shown on the front cover made me want to find out what went on there. The rest of her books are designed the same way. The covers even feel good to the touch. The books are also 6" x 9", a bit bigger than some paperbacks, which makes for bigger words and more spacing between sentences, and thus an easy to read book. The pages are made of high quality paper that make the font stand out perfectly. It doesn't have that over crowded, bunched up word feel to it that so many books foster.I am glad to have found the books by A.J. Rivers. I plan to read them all. She has quickly catapulted to the top of my reading list after reading only "The Girl In Cabin 13". I've started on "The Girl That Vanished" and it is just a riveting as the cabin book.Rivers is a literary gift for our time. You will love her style and her interesting stories. You will love her book!!! Thanks A.J. Rivers for sharing your talent. We look forward to reading your all of your work!!!

Quite Good!
Audio version - this is my first novel by AJ Rivers and I'm sorry to say I was disappointed. It took me a while to get into the storyline as I thought the whole set up was not particularly realistic. It was a little incredulous that an undercover FBI Agent would land in a very remote town and within the first 30 minutes was embroiled in a strange murder and the same night had begun a romantic relationship! She did not hide the fact why she was there very well, and had got under the local police chiefs feet from the very start by insisting she wanted to know more about the initial murder right off the bat! I stuck with it but unlike a lot of previous detective series where I cannot wait to download the next book, I don't feel the same about this one.

Unlucky For Some
Not sure how to say this, it was OK. It seemed to take too long to reach a crescendo but that might be my reluctance to open and read it. I could not understand the stereotypical depiction of the female protagonist as the hapless plucky "girl" in the title: she's a trained FBI agent. As for the big tall, heroic, stereotypical american bar-owning guy for whom she falls instantly . . . I do mean instantly . . . well that was the point where I started wondering if I should just quit, assume I knew the plot and find another book. I was leaving two stars but I can't remember what the second was for.

Not very believable
I hate the format but stuck with it to finish this story just to see if I was right (and I was) after working out who probably dunnit in chapter 3.The main problem I had with this story is the heroine, who in the prologue starts with a major meltdown while working undercover for the FBI. She was so obviously suffering from PTSD of Some kind it was unreasonable to believe they wouldn't have required some sort of psych eval. and or intervention before sending her out again. Even in the main story she did not seem to have an official recognised handler or backup, and was just not believable as a detective with everything happening more by good luck than good judgement.

Captivating
I've been unable to put the book down since I started reading. Nothing has quite captivated me like that in a while. It was all too easy to fall in love with the character of Emma. Emma's backstory has left me with a lot of questions I hope will unravel with subsequent books. This book is definitely worth the read. I was not expecting the full extent of what happened at the end of the book at all and was pleasantly surprised.I would definitely recommend. I'm about to buy the next book and very excited to get stuck back in

3 stars is actually too many
Found this book confusing, the back story of the main character made absolutely no sense and so many questions unanswered . The main story was also badly put together with very little to help bring the book to its conclusion. I personally wouldn't recommend it.
