An amazing pen for beginners
This is an amazing pen for beginners. I'm listing the pros and cons that I have found after using it for 2 weeks -PROS :1. Loosk extremely aesthetic and appealing, especially the black nib.2. The bock #5 nib is a steal. Though bock fine nibs can be a hit and miss, but bock mediums are mostly amazing and smooth writer. It just glides on the paper.3. It takes standard international cartridges and converter so you don't have to worry about spending a lot on Kaweco cartridges/converter. Even a Jinhao converter fits perfectly into it.4. The grip is a tripod - but not as firm as Lamy Safari/Al-Star/Vista/LX etc. The grip is very much comfortable.5. The pen is very light - people who love lighter pens would love to have this.6. Post really well.7. The ergonomic hexagonal shape stops the pen from rolling on a flat surface.CONS :1. Doesn't come with a converter. If you compare the price of this in Europe/The US as against ours vis-a-vis the purchasing power, this product will seem to be quite cheap in a first world country, so not providing a converter is okay for them - but for us, the price is quite a lot, especially people hailing from middle class families. One simply can't spend another 3-400 bucks on a schmidt k5 converter/kaweco converter separately and not everyone can refill cartridges using syringe - and not everyone wants to.2. The cap doesn't have a clip, so it’s almost a big no-no for people who like to clip their pens in their pockets. You can buy clips for Kaweco Sport, but not this.3. Even though it's made of good ABS plastic, it feels flimsy in hand.4. The medium nib writes like a broad on normal classmate/Navneet/Luxor Converge Paper. To get the proper line variation and ink economy, you’ll have to go for JK Excel 90 GSM bond paper at least. Good papers made for fountain pens are extremely expensive - Like Rhodia, Clairefontaine, Tomoe River etc.5. Comes in a just a plastic wrapper (the Seller has got nothing to do with it - it's sold like this in western markets also.6. Doesn't come with any warranty whatsoever. This is a review based on my own opinion and perception. I'd strongly recommend this pens as the cons are not really a 'con' for me - I just mentioned them so that it helps others to decide. The seller is also great. I got it from penspecials.in, a company based in Kolkata who imports Kaweco products. The packaging was great.Hope it helps!

Nice piece of writing equipment
A good, well-balanced fountain pen having a bluish-black painted metal nib and plastic body.Pros:Kaweco being an old and reputed maker of manuscript pen nibs in Germany, crafts its nibs beautifully. The nib is better than Lamy Safari in terms of its flexibility, ink retention, and less scratchy in flourishes. I'd also rate it higher than a Pilot Metropolitan in terms of nib flexibility. The nib size is medium (European), and you get to write with a consistent wet tip.The ink flow is smooth down to the last drop.Cons:The pen comes with a small blue ink cartridge and an empty cartridge. No converters. No pen clips on the cap either.A cartridge lasts 6-7 pages in small-sized handwriting on a longish notebook. Cartridges are expensive if you're wanting to use original Kaweco ink. (You can use an injection syringe to fill up the empty cartridge, though. Better not use cheap ink like Camlin, Parker Quink, etc. to avoid corroding your nib.)The grooves on the pen are meant for right-handed people who hold a pen with the thumb and the index finger. Others might find it difficult to hold for long spells of writing. No Kaweco cases with the pen. Comes in a plastic packet. The seller took great care, though, to pack it inside a cardboard box with a bubble wrap.Summary:The pen is marketed as an entry-level pen in Europe. With a number of Lamy duplicates out there in India, you'd be better off buying this if you're looking for pens of German make. In terms of price, the pen comes at a much cheaper price, and is of genuine make.

LOVE this pen
I LOVE this pen. The grip is so comfortable that it's a pleasure go hold. I would recommend this over a kaweco sport-the full length pen is better balanced and fits my hand better. It's too bad they don't offer these in the fun color choices the sports come in, and they should include the pocket clip as a part of it, but other than that, LOVE.
