Not the quality I would expect
I received the belt however as you can see in the pictures the part with smooth leather is folded and has some dirty brown stripes. The packaging i.e. the foil did not show signs of damage so Trend does not pack this product well. I will leave the product to use for other rough part but next time I would buy something from a different brand.

Perfect strop for mounting to a piece of wood.
The media could not be loaded. This leather strop is exactly what I needed to be able to strop my plane irons, chisels, and kitchen knives. I simply glued this piece of leather to a piece of mahogany board using 2x3g Gorilla Super Glue .This allows me to strop any item I want. I can put the block of wood in my vise and strop away. All I had to do was charge it with a stropping compound and it works great. I have included pictures of edges that I was able to produce using my sharpening plates and this strop. You can see dimensions in the photos I have uploaded.Pros:*Glues well to a board*Great surface for stropping*Nice amount of surface area to strop onCons:*NoneAdditional Considerations:Be aware, when you order this strop you are simply getting the leather only. All of my pictures show it mounted to a block of wood because I glued it to that block of wood. That will not come with the purchase.Overall: 5/5 stars (>=.5 rounds up, <.5 rounds down) => 5 starsIf you have any further questions regarding the product in my review please leave a comment below and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

Very serviceable leather strop, with your favorite compound
This is a decent strop, clean, thick leather ready to be glued to a piece of wood. I glued the smooth side down using gorilla glue to a piece of scrap pine 2x4, which I then shaped into a paddle with my hatchet. It works very well with some stropping compound on everything from my pocket knife to my axes. It can but cut to a narrower shape if you need to (good for curved blades or small knives), if you have a sharp knife, or you can use it as-is, as I did, if you want to be able to use it with large axe and hatchet heads. I've used an old leather belt in the past as well, and while this works just as well it is much wider and therefore more useful for what I needed.

expected a bit more size
It's an o.k. strop, but I expected a bit more size to work with for the price.

Great compliment to the Trend daimond 300/1000 stone!
I bought the Trend diamond stone 300/1000 a few months ago and it has made making an edge easy. This strop with some green polishing compound only improves that product! Now making an edge takes just minutes and using this strop helps keep the edge nice and sharp drastically improving the time the edge stays sharp.I glued it down to a piece of 1/4 plywood, cut to size, and it fits in the nylon pouch that came with the diamond stone. Keeping all I need to get a sharp edge, the stone and the strop, in one compact place.

A Little Thinner than I had Expected
Good quality leather. No blemishes on the skin side. A little thinner than I had anticipated but it did the job. I mounted it on MDF as I wanted a substrate that would have dimensional stability and stay flat. I strop on the skin rather than the flesh side. Some parts may be thinner than the rest but that is the nature of a natural material. If you strop often enough, a sharpening is often unnecessary. Unless you chip or roll an edge that is. With these and some compound I'm able to whittle hair without buying those "6000 grit" whetstones.

Just as advertised.
Since picking up on edc knives I really wanted to learn how to sharpen, so I did a little research and ordered some extra fine green stropping compound and colored on some cardboard. It worked out just okay, but I knew I needed some leather. Picked up this nifty leather pad and couldn't be any more satisfied. Anytime I want to touch up one of my knives i'll toss it on the pad with a good, equal amount of passes. Hopefully it lasts a while! Great size, although if you're trying to strop a machete or edge of that same size, you may want to go with a larger pad or different method entirely :)

Works Very Well for Me.
Pretty spendy but seems to work well. I am very new to tool and knife sharpening, so my knowledge is very limited. Stropping tools and knives on leather seems to put that super polished, razor sharp edge, on an already sharp blade. I have used it on chisels, plane blades, and knives and it works great. I didn't even know you could strop tools! I use it with green polishing compound, but I think it did just as good a job when I used it without polishing compound. I mounted it with wood glue to a piece of 1 inch thick oak; salvaged from a pallet.

exactly as shown
works great for maintaining an edge without taking it to a stone, as a strop should

It actually works!
I bought this with the Trend Diamond Stone and as a complete system it makes this novice woodworker look like an expert after the first sharpening attempt. What a moment of joy it was when my old chisel that I was practising on actually did the paper cut thing. And in the middle of the current pandemic I was surprised at how reasonably quickly I received it here in Australia from America - well done to all those involved

Get what you pay for.
The leather strop i received is NOT flat. If you're on a tight budget, this strop will get the job done. However, after using it for a month, i decided to spend a bit more money to purchase a better quality one. You get what you pay for.
