We have had the square Clean Planetware lunch box for a year now. We use it regularly and it is still in the same condition as the day we took it out of the box. We primarily use it for our 7 year old's lunch.Here are the reasons we like it so much:-Sturdy and well made.-It fits more than enough food for her (and she is a big eater) while being compact.-Its easy to use and our daughter has never had any difficulty with it.-The middle and bottom compartments are the perfect shape and size for a sandwich.-The top, thin compartment is great for something like veggie sticks.-The lunch box fits in an average sized insulated lunch bag with lots of room to spare.Potential issues:-You have to use the whole system all together every time. You can't leave out a piece or it won't latch. Its not a problem, just worth knowing. Sometimes we don't have anything to put in the top thin layer, but we still have to put it in so the whole thing will shut. Or if you lost one of the pieces the whole lunch box would be rendered useless. Although I don't know how or why you would lose just one piece.-Its expensive. But still similar in price to other stainless steel lunch systems. I think its worth it. We have never regretted spending money on this. Although I DO WISH THIS ITEM WAS PRIME :)-Not water tight. This has never been an issue for us.We are now looking into another stainless steel lunch box for our kindergartener. I have looked around at the other options to see if anything new has come out since the last time I looked. Based on size, shape, materials and reviews I think we will end up choosing another one of these.Here is why:-I want something that will fit a whole pb&j. Lots of other options based on size, configuration of compartments and shape will only allow a half a sandwich.-I like the latches. They are sturdy. Hold the lid on well. They have never failed. Easy for our kid to take off and on. And I don't see them wearing out like a snap on lid could. Or cracking like some plastic does over time.-Clean Planetware boxes are sturdy. The SS is thick enough that it doesn't bend or flex. Built to last. I have noticed some other brands can't say the same.
