Reese 500708 Fifth Wheel Landing Gear, 8,000 lbs. Lift Capacity, 36 Inch Travel

This is a great product that holds up our steps strongly.

The product went in easily just simply had to cut a larger hole where the single switch was for the old landing gear bolted right in place now there's less stress cuz there's not one motor driving both sets of landing gear also the way the motor is mounted it's far less stress on each individual motor as well and it was a simple installation I'm very happy with the product.

Was not a easy install but mostly due to bad engineering on the part of the fifth wheel. The lower support was just under the level of the floor on my 1995 nomad. The tops of the jack motors hit the frame so I had to lower the mounting brackets 3/4 inch. Luckily I have a lot of fabrication experience.

Installed this on the front of my 42' keystone fusion. Seems to have more than enough power to not stall out. I didn't think I would like the individual jack adjustment but I do. I would definatley install again if I ever get a different trailer.

Product came in broke. Can’t find replacement part for motor. Amazon was no help. Can’t return because it’s already been installed and all we got was a partial refund. Would not recommend this product.

I did have to modify the landing gear position to the outside of the frame. the factory landing gear were on the inside of the battery and propane compartments and the motor configuration did not fit in the factory location. So I relocated to the cargo compartment and positioned to the outside of the frame. I welded a 6" x 6" x 1/4" plate to the outside of the I Frame in order to box in and have a location for the lower landing gear bracket. If your not a fabricator of good welder I suggest taking to a reputable shop to do the install. I also installed the Ultra-Fab 39-941705 Ultra Power Twin II - 30" Lift 18" behind the rear wheels and ran #6 gage wire up to the control switches to create a leveling system. It takes about 5 seconds to change the side to side level a full bubble by using right landing gear at the same time as the right rear electric jack, It works great.

My jacks came in with one motor broken. I called the company and two days later I had the replacement, no problems!! I installed them on my fifth wheel camper after doing some minor changes to the jack head. I had to saw part of the aluminum off on one side of the gear box. It was either that or have my old brackets taken out and spacers welded in to have proper clearance. I had to drill a hole on the bottom of the leg to turn the pull lever because it was facing backwards after my changes. It took me about a half day to install them but part of it was because I ran heavier wire and came straight off of my battery for power. They work so smooth and lift my camper with no strain on the motors! The old one struggled to lift it. I am happy with my purchase!!

These were a great upgrade but the bottom pin brackets were welded on upside down. Don’t realize this until I was completed done or I would have returned or had them fixed. I also feel they should include some wire and thermals for the price
