This fan is incredible, and has made a huge difference in my life this summer
I bought this fan on a whim about six months ago, remembering how hot the previous summer was. I felt a bit stupid at the time - I'm going to spend well over $150? For a fan? But I've been annoyed by cheap fans in the past, so I figured if I was going to get one, I might as well go all out.I am not normally one to write reviews. But I am not kidding you when I say that this fan has changed my life. It's one of the best purchases I've ever made. This fan is AMAZING.I live in a studio apartment, on the top floor with large sunny windows. Because of this, when it's warm out, my apartment gets HOT, and the air lingers at night. We have a small window air conditioner, which is excellent unless the temperature gets above 90 or so, in which case the AC doesn't knock down the heat nearly enough. I have trouble sleeping unless it's cool, so this is a big deal, especially at night. Summers are normally brutal for me, and I'm usually significantly less productive in those months due to the heat.Enter the fan.The first thing you need to know is that this thing is POWERFUL. I know many of the reviews say as much, but it's hard to describe just how much of a ridiculous punch this thing packs. Even when it's a hundred degrees outside and my apartment would normally be sweltering, I've only had to bump it up to level 3 once or twice, and I legitimately cannot imagine a situation in which I'd need to put it on level 4. Most of the time, level 1 is more than enough; when it's quite warm, level 2 is great. Now, this doesn't mean you're going to be living in a wind tunnel. Since the fan is an air circulator, it's very good at spreading out the air - sure, you can stand directly in front of it and get a quick cooling blast, but you'll mostly use it to efficiently cool down the entire room, without feeling like you're standing on a windy mountaintop.Of course, with more power comes more noise. Is it exceptionally loud for its output? Nope! Quite the opposite. But big fans on high blast make a lot of noise, there's no way around that, so don't be surprised. (I personally love white noise, and it's not like the fan makes an obnoxious grinding sound or anything - it's very smooth - so this isn't a problem for me at all.) Of course, it's a trade-off: on the days when it's 100 degrees and you're sweltering, you're gonna want the most powerful fan you can get, and a bit of noise is a small price to pay, which is probably why you're thinking about buying a $180 fan in the first place.Level 1 is pretty silent. Level 2 is noticeable for a few minutes, then you forget about it (when I sleep I usually have the fan on level 2, 6-10 feet from the foot of the bed, and it's fine). Level 3 is loud, but you'll never use it unless it's so hot you don't care, or you're in a larger space. Level 4, I have to admit, is quite absurd, but it's also what you're paying the big bucks for: a fan blast is so powerful you could set it up 30 feet away and still feel it. Perfect for a large garage / workshop space. All in all, I am SO GLAD I bought this thing. Is it more power than I need? Maybe! But the lower levels work spectacularly, and I'd much rather have the option of blasting it and cooling any room down instantly than wishing I'd bought a more powerful fan every time it gets really hot. The air circulation aspect is amazing, it really cools the entire apartment down, the dog loves laying in front of it, and it's made a tremendous difference for my sleep this summer. The fact that you can turn it on and IMMEDIATELY be cool, no matter the heat, makes it worth every single penny. Now that I have it, I can't imagine life without it.Five stars.

Powerful fan capable of a 20+mph wind.
I bought this fan to counter my inefficient ac in my 1000sqf apartment. With out a fan I need the ac on 70 degrees to sleep and it runs continually all night long and when it's hot my electric bill jumps a 100 dollars a month. Now with this fan on level 2 circulating the air around my apartment I can keep the ac around 74-76 and it only comes on a few times a night. The fan is amazing. The highest level is a little loud but it shoots out an incredible 20 mph wind. For a fan his size its quite impressive.I have compared this fan to the 16 inch commercial electric turbo fan and the Vornado 660. Both great fans btw.I used an Anemometer to measure the wind speed.Vornado=15mph windCommercial Electric=19mphFc-300=22 mphStandard box fan= 9mph(for reference)As for noise. The fc300 is nice and quiet on level 1. Level 2 is manageable but you will definitely hear it. Level 3 and 4 are loud enough where watching TV gets hard. The Vornado is the quitest but only outs out 580cfm where this one does 2100. The fc300 has about the same cfm on low vs the Vornado on high. And the fx300 on low is quiter then the Vornado on high. Now since this is an air circulator it should be able to throw a nice collum of air a far ways. So I measured the air flow at 17 feet away from the fan and all 3 fansFc300 hit 8 mphCommercial Electric hit 6.5mphVornado 660 hit 2.4 mphThis fan circulates air around my apartment like I've never seen. On high there is literally wind any where I stand. It's fantastic.Final thoughtsThe Fc-300 is a remarkable fan. The commercial electric fan is half the price but this fan is much lighter as it's make of ABS and it's 2 inches smaller then the commercial electric. The cord is long and durable and all you need to do is wrap it around the fan it's self and clip it to it's own cord. The only negative is the loudness on level 3 and 4. But you can't get 20mph of air movement without a lot of noise. Vornado is the quitest the commercial electric and then the fc300. There is a direct coralation between the amount of air being thrown out and noise level. This fan can easily reach over 100 feet if I had room where as the Vornado would max out at 50feet Imo even though they claim 100 feet. Imo this fan is worth every penny. It's destroyes the Vornado in preformace and it looks cooler. I'm not knocking the Vornado I just feel it should have higher max level.

Fantastic product. Excellent build quality. Super quiet. Powerful and useful. VFM. Value for money.
Fantastic product. Excellent build quality. Super quiet. Powerful and useful. Way more useful than a table fan since this will actually move air around the room, while being very quiet.

Very Powerful and Incredibly Energy Efficient
Due to the massive rise in energy costs in the last 12 months, I've been looking for a low cost alternative to using a tumble dryer for my washing during the winter months. I initially wanted one of those heated drying pod type thingies but they were like rocking horse droppings so I had to think outside the box and boy am I glad I did. This fan is absolutely amazing for drying clothes and literally costs pennies to run. I put a full load of wet washing on my airer, position the fan on a chest of drawers that is slightly higher than the airer, angle it down towards the washing and whack it on full power. It's pretty loud but I leave it upstairs and can't hear it downstairs so it doesn't cause any disturbance and all I have to do is flip the washing when the top/outer feels pretty dry. Depending on how wet the washing is, it can take 5-7 hours to dry but even on full power and at today's prices, it only costs 4p an hour to run so it works out at between 20p and 30p to dry a full load, which is around 90% less than using a tumble dryer for an hour! The added benefit is that I can use it on hot summer days to cool an entire room for a fraction of the cost of a standard electric fan (which simply blows warm air around anyway) so it's a win win for me.

Great solid little fan
This is a powerhouse house, had to vent our cottage and used it to circulate air, did a great job. We ran it day and night for a week and no issues

Mini Turbine!
I've own many fans before, much larger than this and they definitely don't move air like this one. The air flow is also fairly smooth. It sits nice and stable on the ground or on a table on top speed. The knob screws on the sides lets you adjust the tilt and seems to be staying where it should.Speed 1 is enough to move and circulate air in a small to medium size room. You can feel a breeze from approximately 6 feet away and you can barely hear it up close (but I'm not sensitive to noise). Speed 2 you can definitely feel a strong breeze from approximate 6 feet. Again the noise level isn't too bad but negligible. Speed 3 and Speed 4 you can definitely feel and hear it down a long hallway.I'm pretty happy with this fan and would recommend it.UPDATE June 2024The fan finally died?? It needed to be on the top setting to barely spin the blades. I tried to de-dust it, WD-40, and it didn't fix it. Funny enough, the older large metal fans is still functioning just fine.
