Lacking refinement.
I like pens with wood barrels. This pen was a disappointment. I realize it is an inexpensive pen, but I have several from Jinhao and Bulow that are not wood, but are in the same price range, and are much nicer.

Pretty wood
At first I got an inky mess. Now I seem to have gotten the knack of it. Who knew a fountain pen had a learning curve! I believe I will enjoy this pen, but will make note if it fails me.
