Wow. This is a well made hitch. It is MUCH beefier then the competitors. I looked up the weight on other brands and this weighs 20 lbs more. It also has a much better finish that will survive the elements. Worth the little bit of extra money.

Hitch arrived all scratched up and even a little bent! They use an awesome thick paint or powder coat, but it doesn’t much matter when the heavy three pieces beat themselves to death in the box during shipping. I pretty much repainted everything before installing it was so bad. I also welded on the nicer metal plug bracket from the 2000’s era trucks. The bolt flange somehow got slammed hard enough to bend it. I’d like to see what it hit to do that. The bolts pulled it flat upon installation. Hardly the condition you like to see a product. I reached out to Curt about it. They apparently don’t care and never got back to me after a few weeks.Mostly I dislike how the hitch hangs down significantly lower than the factory hitch. I was actually replacing a Curt class four hitch that I never much liked and ripped the safety chain loops off of. It hangs an inch or two lower. I had to adjust my pintle hitch up a bolt hole to get the trailer height back where it should be. Hitch plug sticks down problematically low I think. One of these days it may be self-clearanced by the ground. Probably good if your truck is lifted, but you probably are not towing much with a lifted truck. Dumb. I guess Curt can’t measure well.The three piece design is easy to install but I can’t believe it’s all that strong. A single welded assembly would be much better and still easy to install. I’ve done it several times by myself without issue on multiple trucks. The class four Curt hitch is garbage. This is an improvement over that.

I purchased this hitch and as far as it’s purpose it serves it. However when I received it, the hardware bag was open and several pieces were missing out of the box. After calling Curt directly (only customer service option I was given), the rep informed me that the hitch was most likely returned and sent back out as it was not packaged in Curt’s standard. He informed me to return it and a new one would be sent out with a two week wait time. I did not return it for just a few missing pieces of hardware, went to tractor supply and was able to find what I was missing. But beware if you purchase from Amazon, it may be a return that they just send back out without verifying that it’s all there and in good condition.

definitely massive , I opened the box so I could handle the pieces one by one.the side plates look like 5/16. I have a lift and my spare was already off.sort the hardware hang each side plate by the center bolt , install the front and rear bolts (all loosely )put the main piece up with 1 bolt on each side to hold it ,then put the other 3 bolts in. snug then up , snug the side bracesthen torque them all . took me 20 minutes max. I'm unsure about the complain about a sloppy draw bar fit.seems normal to me, at the ball the side play is maybe 1/8" , a little play is good. around here with the salt, I've had them rust solid, then they never come out!I thought it was too tall, (would hang low) yet "web" installed pictures looked good . it was just fine, on my other hitch the receiver was welded to the bottom of the cross tube.this receiver is slide thru the cross piece (so the cross is lower) and welded ,then upper and lower braces are welded ,very solidI wanted a hitch that the limiting factor would be my k3500 Dually, this fits the bill.

This hitch installed easily using existing holes in the frame. My truck has a Thieman liftgate that has an integrated step bumper, and the only difficult part of the hitch install was notching that to clear the ball mount. That's not an issue for most trucks, though, and other than that it was a simple bolt-on job. The instructions suggest that you lower the spare tire, but I was able to install it easily without doing this.One thing to be aware of is that the safety chain plate is 1/2" thick, which is thicker than the plates on any of my other trucks, probably to handle the very heavy trailers that this hitch is capable of. The quick links that I've been using wouldn't open far enough to let the link slide over the plate. I replaced them with load-rated hooks with gates, which work great on this hitch as well as my other trucks. Again, that probably won't be an issue for most people, and it was a pretty minor thing overall, but it took an extra trip to the hardware store before I could hook up my trailer and go.I'd buy this hitch again if I needed one for another truck. It's very economical for a heavy-duty hitch, costing only slightly more than a Class III hitch would have, and it's easy to install.

Fits great on my 95 Chevy K3500 SRW 4x4! The hitch mounts to the frame in 6 spots unlike the stock hitch that mounts to the frame in 4 spots and the bumper brackets in 2. The hitch being in 3 pieces made installation a breeze compared to the awkward and heavy one piece designs. Class V is probably a little overkill for my uses, but I’d rather be safe than sorry. Definitely a high quality hitch and I recommend for any 3/4 or 1 ton OBS Chevy owners. Side note: The box arrived very damaged, but with the hitch being as heavy as it is that is to be expected. A heavier duty box would have been nice.

Works great

The product was made well, very sturdy and this time it came with all the hardware, nuts, bolts, square washers and washers. Grade 8 fasteners. Last time I had to send one of the same thing back to Amazon and have a replacement sent. Carton was damaged and the hardware was flopping around the box and missing, nuts, bolts and square washers.It was easy to install especially if its only 1 person and taking my time it took an hour to install.P.S. The missing parts/customer service phone number is no good.

I can pull a house!!! Installation was easy, quality is good. A few minor blemishes from shipping but let's remember, it's going on a truck and will get dirty. This thing is a beast. I strongly recommend this model over any other ones. Price is really not much more than a lower class or inferior product.
