Neat Little Gadget!!!
UPDATE: I wrote that I wasn't sure about the strength of the hinges. I looked and there's a metal pin, so the hinges should be fine for a long time.Along with many others, I've had to consider getting a home haircut. I keep my hair nedium length, just below my shoulders. I'm 60, and I have a plate in my neck, numerous back surgeries, and a spinal stimulator. I can't stand my hair too long. After almost a year of no haircut, I finally hacked about 3" off in May. I did it myself. Needless to say, the back didn't look great. It's grown out quite a bit and needed another cut, which meant either I do it, or allow my 84 year old husband to do it.I needed some scissors, so while I was on Amazon, I searched out "haircut templates". I ran across this set. I was intrigued and I hoped it would work well enough for my husband to use.I got both pieces, one a white plastic clip, arc shaped, with a small level attached. The other, shorter, pink clip, also with a small level, is straighter, although if you sit it on a flat table, you'll see a very slight arc, appropriate for bangs and other uses.It comes with simple to follow directions for simple trims, to how to cut layers. The instructions are clear and easy to follow.Frankly, I didn't really go over both sides of the paper. I parted my hair down the center, and sectioned off each side with a clip. My husband attached the white clip at the nape of my neck, and moved it down, making sure it was level and the lower edge where I wanted him to cut.He cut my hair to the lower edge of the clip. When done, we removed the clip and i had a beautifully even cut. It took a total of about 7 minutes. I went upstairs, and standing in front of the medicine cabinet mirror, I unclipped the sides.I used the white clip again. I clipped it to each side and made it even with the hair in the back, while angling it upward to where I wanted my hair to fall. Now, I have a very nice trim that's even on both sides.I prefer that my bangs follow the contour of my face, rather than being straight. I turned the white arc clip upside-down, clipped it high and slid it down, keeping the level even, until it was along my eyebrows, then cut. My bangs came out perfect. I put a few small layers in the bangs. Tomorrow I'll look at putting some layers in the rest of my hair. The white arc seems easy to bend, but it may be by design for thick hair. I have extremely fine hair. In fact, most barrettes and clips won't stay in my hair; they just slip right out. I was wondering if the clip would hold. It did. My only concern is the mechanism that holds it closed. I'm not sure if it will hold up in the long-term.I'm extremely happy with the set. If my 84 year old husband can do a good job with it, than so should everyone else.I'll add photos later.

terribly cheap quality knock-off version
Very unhappy with this product, I was looking forward to cutting my hair at home, but turns out it is a cheap knock-off of an original product. This fake one is flimsy and weak, it bends so easily like cheap thin plastic. It didn't hold my hair well inside the clip at all, and broke at the base! The leveler is cheap too, the bubble doesn't move around properly and it falls out of its place! Ridiculous that this is sold online at all! I am throwing it in the trash where it belongs, and demanding Amazon refund me as this is a cheap junk knockoff product that shouldn't be on here!

Worth Every Penny!
I was so hesitant to cut my own hair because I've only ever trimmed my bangs. I wear my hair past my shoulders and down the middle of my back. It's blonde and the ends break off easily and soon after I get a trim. I feel spending $20 every time I go get two inches cut off is too much, not to mention having to sit and wear a mask during the entire visit. I have multiple reasons why wearing a mask for extended periods of time is not healthy for me. This is the answer for me. I dove right in knowing I could go get it fixed if I only trimmed a little off and if it completely messed up my hair. I even opted for a layered look which the salon never gets right. I absolutely love it and will never go back to the salon! As I age, I am liking my hair a bit shorter but not too short and this layered look feels and looks great. I have already gotten compliments on it! I cannot wear my hair too short due to my face shape so thank you for making this product available!! I will be ordering another one in case this one breaks for any reason!

Best tools ever to cut your hair perfectly
I got this today. I put it on the back of my hair...I used the pink bangs one because I have fine hair. When you use this one you brush your unwashed hair behind your ears..put the clip on and lower it to the length you want. The great thing is that after you cut straight across and shake out your hair, you are left with both sides a tad bit longer than the back. Which makes it look like a very expensive Salon Cut. I am going to use the larger one on my Granddaughters hair...she has a nice thick head of hair. My hair is now washed and styled..it looks Wonderful. I recommend this highly. The price is right as well.

Glad I bought it
I saw this recommended on Buzzfeed and bought it on the spot. The package includes one curved SnipClip and one, smaller, flat clip. I have shoulder-length hair and I'm also growing out what had been a short graduated bob cut. So, the instructions to flip my hair over and cut upside down were no good to me. The shorter hair in the back was simply lost when I flipped my hair over. I also didn't have anyone around to help me by cutting from behind. So, I worked in sections with the small, flat SnipClip and was able to get pretty decent results. I was mostly just trying to trim split ends anyway, so nothing complex. I have very fine hair, so the clip didn't fit tightly enough all the time and I had to pinch it tighter to keep it secure while I cut. The directions also suggest using dry hair, but wetting my hair just a bit helped keep everything in order.

Worth it
I have medium length hair, straight and blunt cut. Recently I've been trimming it myself, and was struggling with getting the back even. The Snip Clip arrived today and I immediately tried it out. What a great tool! I was able to clip the back of my hair, slide down the tool, bring everything around to the side where I could see and reach it, and get a nice even cut!A big improvement, and so much easier.I used the smaller clip on my bangs too, and it worked great. The larger clip held my fine hair well in the back, and the smaller one worked perfectly for my bangs. When I first looked at this set on Amazon, I thought it seemed like a high price to pay for "modified plastic barrettes" but I decided to take a chance, and glad I did.Definitely worth it for me! Thanks!
