Dimitri (Immortals of New Orleans Book 6)

Repetitive but a Good Read
I enjoyed the book although it did get repetitive in descriptions and explaining actions, the same phrases were used frequently enough that it just slightly distracted from the story. I can only read the words “glistening folds” so many times before I start rolling my eyes and begin wishing the book would end soon so I can move on to something else. Having read the entire series up to this point, I am starting to feel like I’m reading nearly the same tales over and over. I am forgetting who’s who when first and second story characters are mentioned in later books. That being said, I do enjoy the unique points each story has, like bringing in a different type of shifter or other supernaturals than witches, vamps, and wolves. On its own, it is well-written, with a fair amount of details, leaving just enough to the imagination.

This book had a lot of plots, sub-plots, and evil villains; much info and story.
Dimitri, beta of the Acadian wolves in NOLA, wakes to find his mate, Gillian, a cougar/hidden wolf/healer, healing him from a vicious attack during his vacay in California. The two struggle to accept each other and fight many evils during their courtship but emerge victorious in the end- which went on and on. This book never really explains why she has these healing abilities other than they came from her rare feline type. My personal listing says there's a novella- Lost Embrace (Kade and Sydney)- that should be read next before Book 7, but there's no mention of it in this book. This is another HFN book.

Review based on entire series
Wow what a dynamite SeriesImmortals of New Orleans Kym GrossoI have no idea who recommended this series to me but I want to thank you very much. Kym Grosso is now on my spreadsheet and Authors to follow list. That’s how good these reads were.On a recommendation I picked this entire series up back in November. That being said I started reading just recently. My review is going to be a little different since once I started I absolutely could not put them down. So I read the series as on big fat delicious book. From Kade’s book all the way to Book #6 Dimitri’s book. From Page 1 of Book #1 I could not put the reads down. I was NOT going to stop to do reviews on each individual read because I just couldn’t wait to jump into the next one.Such well written books they read like you’re watching on the big screen. There is something for everyone who enjoys reading Paranormal Erotic Romance. Shifters, Witches, Vamps, humans (LOL) and even a naiad. Lots of action, romance, and sometimes a chuckle here or there. Leopold will give you that. Each of the Hot Hero’s are even romantics in their own way. I know this isn’t the conventional drippy gooey packed review that most are accustomed to, but trust me you’ll understand where I’m coming from when you pick up the first book “Kade’s Embrace” and realized you’ve zipped through all 6 in a matter of days. They’re that good. I so can’t wait for Jax’s story and I want to see if Sydney pulls out of her funk.Again, Thank You to whoever recommended these reads to me and to Kym Grosso for keeping me so captivated with all these scrumptious characters. 5* and I wish I could give higher.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this series, but lots of unanswered/unresolved issues at end of this one, hoping next book resolves them!
I absolutely loved this book. They keep getting better and better. Cannot wait for book 7, have been dieing for Jax's story but that teaser is killing me! If anyone has any idea when it will be released please let me know! Waiting on pins and needles! But back to Dimitri, great book love both hero and heroine but kinda disappointed that Dimitri and Leopold never even questioned the witch's motives (and they're supposed to be so smart and worldly, especially Leo, but maybe his head is still up his ass due to his recent mating,) because I can't see the old Leo not connecting the dots and seeing bigger picture. Also was really perturbed with D just blowing off Gillian's concerns where Ilsbeth was concerned like she was just being a jealous twit but she was actually just the only one looking at it objectively without letting past feelings etc cloud her judgement. If I had been her D would've had hell to pay for not listening to me from the start I don't think I could've let it go as easily as she did. I mean it wasn't like it was just some outlandish off the wall accusation it made sense but still D kept giving witch benefit of doubt and asking her for help when it was obvious she was trying to drive a wedge between D and Gillian(even though she knew score supposedly). Anyway just found D a little thick and not very bright in this circumstance especially to be the beta of his pack. But glad she got what was coming to her or so it seems. I guess we will see if she shows back up in next book. She just disappeared a little too easily for me to believe its over with her completely. But overall great book! HATED the epilogue, only because I have NO idea when book 7 is coming out and I can't wait to see what happens next, plus I've always had a soft spot for Jax and have been waiting for his HEA, he deserves it, especially after what Kat has put him through in the past and now everything that's happened in this book! He is in a bad place but still trying to be a strong alpha and hold his pack together despite everything. Then BAM more s$&t is dumped on him. Also hopefully along with Jax getting his HEA hope Sydney gets her head out of her ass and appreciates gift Kade has given her (wasn't like he had a real choice, he did what had to be. Done to save her life, she wouldn't have let him die either and she was stupid enough to walk outside beyond the wards just cause she was armed, how long has she been around supes? She knows bullets don't always work) so yeah! Book 7 need some enlightenment on Syds part maybe a figurative (or maybe literal) b$&*h slap to get her out of her funk and some closure on the Ilsbeth front (yeah she would definitely be getting WAY MORE from me than a little b$&*h slap if I were Gillian and I'd dare D or anyone else to get in my way! Ok as you can tell I have a little pent up frustration from how things came to a close in this book.but still was great read and am soooooo looking forward to Jax and book 7. Hopefully some of my issues with book 6 will be answered and/or resolved in book 7!

not quite 5 stars but very nearly!
After helping LOgan and Wynter in Leopald's book, Dimitri is suffering. His wolf is dying and he cant shift. He gets attacked by wolves, and cannot save himself. SOmeone else does, Gillian. Gilly has secrets she doesnt want Dimitri to know, and she does not want to be around wolves. When an ALpha who set his sights on Gilly comes a-calling, they are thrown together in a game of cat and mouse (emphasis on the cat) that turns deadly. We met Dimitri in most, if not all the previous five books. He has been a stable favourite and its great to read his story! It is a corker!!I loved Gillian, and how she stood her ground, especially near the beginning when she was trying to keep away from Dimitri. Her secrets come out, of course, but some of those I did not see coming! No ma'am! You snuck that one right at the very end!Sorry, I digress. The book is awesome. It took me a while to warm to this series, the first four books didnt hit bigger than a 4 but Leopald and Dimitri have saved converted me good and proper. This tale has twists and turns, plots and subplots, sex and violence. It has it all!I am left with questions though. Whats happened to the witch? and Jax?? and who is next?? and when is it due?? see? questions questions and more questions. Oh and what IS going on with Sydney and Kade? While these are best read in series order, its not really necessary. BUT if you want to make a start, book one, KAde's Dark Embrace, is currently free on Amamzon.co.uk.I want to give it 5 full stars, but cant' quite, so it sits at 4.75

Dimitri
What a fantastic story, Kym has done it again with Dimitri who is Logan's beta, and a real hunk with a sense of fun. He's on a holiday and meets Gil a shifter with a rare gift who is being attacked by a group of shifter wolves, and goes to her rescue only to be seriously injured when he is unable to shift into his wolf because of having an evil energy latch onto him when he saved his friends daughter. Him manages to overcome her attackers and takes Dimitri away, heels him temporarily and calls Logan and all the main numbers on his phone to come and get him. Dimitri is interested in her and wants her to stay so he can get to know her better, but she runs off. He and his best friend persue her and the story thickens with many twists. Do read this book you thoroughly enjoy it, it's great. Thank you Kym, looking forward to reading about Jax and maybe gorgeous Jake too.

So Good
I have been waiting for this book it seams like forever, Demitri is one Sexy wolf (who is loosing his wolf, he has a parasite that attached to his wolf from the other realm), go's away to think, gets attacked and nearly dies. Gilly is on the run, from a Alpha wolf who want's to claim her as his mate, Gilly saves Dimitri, and calls everyone in his contact list to come for him. There is so much more to the book, sex, violence, laughter, tears and treachery from friend and foe and a love that simmers from the beginning to the end.Kym Grosso has done it again, each book has gone from strength to strength. Looking forward to Jax next

Not great.
Not as good as her previous books in this series. There is only so much sex and threesomes a reader can read. Not much storyline to this book either.
