Star Wars Darth Sidious 84087

This is an excellent 3.75 inch action figure of STAR WARS' own Mr. Charm School himself, the Sith Lord Darth Sidious (aka Senator Palpatine, Chancellor Palpatine, the Emperor, and the "Master" in "Yes, my Master"). Played by Ian McDiarmid, he's appeared in every STAR WARS film.Darth Sidious is wonderfully creepy in his black cowl and robes. His face is partly conealed and the hood of his robe is not removable. Although he comes with his hands clasped before him, the figure looks more effective with his arms opened and outreaching---the long drape of the sleeves gives him a batlike appearance which is surprisingly scary.He comes with a Comm-Tech chip as a stand (a chip reader is necessary to access the talking feature) but disappointingly lacks any accessories, even a lightsaber or Force lightning, either of which would seem de riguer for the old misanthrope. To get either you'll have to steal one from another Jedi or Sith figure in your collection, something, I'm sure, of which Darth Sidious would approve.

Finally got my item

My 4-year-old loves this figure. It's pretty basic - as the previous reviewer points out, it lacks accessories of any kind (my son gives Darth Sidious Vader's lightsaber at need). The robes are not quite black but are kind of bluish and black and not evenly colored and I'm not sure if this is intentional or not.For a figure who comes with nothing and is basically un-poseable (he doesn't stand well either) he brings a great deal of joy to my son and is one of his most played with figures. He's also pretty durable since there is nothing to break off.

I love the detail on this figure--;beneath the shroud of his black hood his eyes and mouth and the creases in his skin are visible. Even though he is under four inches tall, this figure certainly has a presence and creepiness which make him very fun! I wasn't sure how much I would like it without any accessories, but it is really a great figure, and I'm pleased that I chose this version of Darth Sidious over the others.

My son wanted a Sidious figure, and I ordered this. I remember figures being a little higher quality when I was a kid. His robe is all made of hard plastic and he doesn't come with any cool accessories.The boys were excited to have their villain and didn't seem to mind the way it was made. I would recommend trying to find a different, better version of Sidious (I think I've seen them around from time to time.)

This was in new condition and my grandson was so excited to get this as a gift. He loves Star Wars and this was one of his favorite characters. Received in great packing and on a timely basis. Thank you.

Bought as part of a secret Santa at work where we needed to pick something that could be displayed on the desk. Purchased this with the holographic Obi Wan and they are now on opposing sides of the desk.

Perfect. Gift for my child, arrived as was advertised.
