I use this to strain my deep-fryer oil. due to the plastic screen, you must manage the oil temp carefully with a food thermometer. I pour into a storage bottle and strain with this funnel/filter when the oil is around150-180degF, too hot and the funnel will melt! Too cool and the oil will not flow through the filter screen. I tried a coffee filter, but the flow was even slower. The funnel is only about 4" across, so pouring directly from even a small cooker is very problematic. I use a soup ladle, and it goes well.

I bought this to strain grease, the 200 mesh filter element is just too fine to use for grease. I’m sure it is good for some things, but not usable for why I wanted it. Product seems well made, just not usable gor my application. In the description it said it could be used for straining grease, that is false. I have since bought a funnel w a 300 nest filter and it works good

I was rather amazed at how durable this funnel actually was because of the price... This funnel has worked much better then I could have wished for. I definitely would recommend this.

This funnel kit is of great quality and sells for a fair price. The 300 mesh catches everything, I use it mostly for straining used cooking oil. The 300 mesh for oil may be a little more than I need as it strains rather slowly, maybe a 200 mesh would work better for me, but it does a great job. Buy one!

Excellent for straining cooking oil (cooled) and other liquids. Funnel is very well made, works great. I purchased two additional filters with different mesh sizes for straining flexibility.

Fluid builds up and will overflow, there is no venting.

This thing is terrible. The mesh does not allow you to use the whole funnels volume (which isn’t all that much to begin with). Bits of what you are straining somehow can make it into where the mesh is trapped in the ring making it impossible to clean. Completely useless for what it was intended, simply straining coffee grounds. One use and there are bits of grounds in the ring that will surely start to mold...avoid this if you want to actually use the funnels size or expect to have clean utensils in the kitchen.

I bought this to filter canola oil from my deep fryer. I should have gotten the other model, this one would take an entire day to filter 3L. I ended up using a fine steel mesh strainer

I’m so glad I got this product! The quality is fantastic too. I used this for my kombucha tea, washing quinoa, washing broken rice. Perfect fine mesh strainer!
