ABSOLUTELY ridiculous that we now have to buy blister packs!!!
Like others have mentioned, I too have IBS and Chrones Disease. It's bad enough that people have to suffer, we shouldn't have to deal with these stupid blister packs!!! And the fact that we can no longer get bottles with decent amounts, is due to others poor choices! Not only that but the per dose price has skyrocketed!People with Psoriasis & Psoriatic arthritis, osteoarthritis, & rheumatoid arthritis are the ones being harmed by this stupid packaging! You sure don't see the FDA concerned with the harm done to anyone but addicts. Opening these stupid blister packs kills their hands! If you're an addict, you can get the help you actually need, including your prescription opioid meds shipped to you directly through a telemedicine app called PursueCare. Please do that instead of, once again, having no regard for the millions of people you're hurting through your irresponsible behavior! The primary reason for the change in packaging & limited number in each package is that ADDICTS abuse loperamide! That has absolutely nothing to do with 95% of people who rely on loperamide for REAL ILLNESS!!! Loperamide is a mild opioid analogue and ADDICTS abuse it to prevent getting some of the withdrawal symptoms. Those of us who rely on loperamide for IBS AND CHRONE'S ARE NOT ADDICTS, WE DON'T ABUSE LOPERAMIDE AND WE SHOULDN'T BE LIMITED AS THOUGH WE'RE ABUSING IT!This isn't the fault of the company who packs it. These limitations were placed on the packaging by the federal government! Ignorant policies! So, yes this product is fine. It works the same as any loperamide but I'm still angry that, once again, the vast majority of people will never abuse this product & the rest are being punished because of incredibly poor choices of ADDICTS!!!"9/20/2019 UpdateTo help address loperamide abuse and misuse, FDA approved changes to the packaging for tablet and capsule forms of the brand-name over-the-counter (OTC) anti-diarrheal medicines Imodium A-D, Imodium Multi-Symptom Relief, and Be Health Loperamide HCl Capsules. These changes limit each carton to no more than 48 mg of loperamide and require the tablets and capsules to be packaged in individual doses. FDA continues to work with manufacturers, including those of generic and liquid OTC loperamide products to institute appropriate package sizes and types that support the safe use of these medicines."Addicts tend to take entire bottles of loperamide. The change in packaging is solely because of this. It can cause cardiovascular problems in people who take up to 200 tablets at one sitting!"For the intestinally afflicted, loperamide — Imodium, as it’s more commonly known — is a godsend. While diarrhea is certainly fodder for jokes, sight gags and childhood singalongs, it’ also serious: It accounts for 4 percent of all deaths, and 5 percent of health loss to disability, worldwide. After being approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration in 1976, Imodium quickly became the bestselling prescription anti-diarrheal medication in the United States. However, because of its chemical similarities to opioids, it does have the potential for abuse. But while a euphoric “high” is theoretically possible through abuse, the potential side effects can be deadly.“It is an opioid, but if you compare the chemical structure to the famous opioids, there’s quite a bit of difference,” says Phil LaFoy, owner of Blount Discount Pharmacy in Maryville, Tenn. “If you know your chemistry well, you can see the base structure in it, but you don’t get nearly the effect that you would get from oxycodone, hydrocodone or morphine. The crazy thing about loperamide is that if you take enough to get a buzz, you’re likely to have a heart attack. There are a lot of cardiovascular issues with it.”IMO, if an adult wants to absuse a substance, that's their problem. If they have a heart attack because they've drastically abused any substance, then they should accept responsibility for their actions! Others shouldn't have to suffer because of poor decision making.

Hate the blister packs!
Work well to treat moderate diarrhea. I understand the unfortunate need to sell them in blister packs, but they are a major pain. Soooo much simpler when they came in a bottle.

The easy way to extract the caplets from the blisters!
This brand worked as well as the standard brand, and costs only half as much. On the first page of reviewers, most complain bitterly about the difficulty of extracting the caplets from the individual blisters. Yes, it would be nice to have the caplets easily available loose in a bottle, but you will have the same problem with the standard brand for quantities of 24 or less. MY METHOD ONLY TAKES 10-15 SECONDS to extract each caplet from it's blister. Get a utility knife(i.e. a knife with a replaceable razor blade-like blade).. Flip the blister group over, so you are looking at the cardboard side. Probe the cardboard approximately right behind the pill with the end point of your blade and, continuing to lead with the point, slide the blade toward the caplet, with some pressure, to open the cardboard so that the caplet is mostly exposed. Then, you can then easily dig or squeeze it out. BE CAREFUL not to let the knife slip and cut you, if you aren't used to safely using a utility knife for close work. I hold the knife and blister packet on my upper thigh, while sitting, to provide finer control of the knife. DO NOT TEAR THE INDIVIDUAL BLISTERS FROM THEIR PACKET, EITHER BEFORE OR AFTER EXTRACTING THE CAPLET. YOU WILL WANT SOMETHING LARGER THAN A SINGLE BLISTER TO HOLD ONTO WHEN DIGGING THE CAPLET OUT..................... As an alternative to the utility knife, that works almost as well, you can use a scissors with an extremely tiny sharp tip to probe the cardboard, then cut the relevant cardboard to expose at least part of the caplet, when you can usually squeeze the caplet out. For this, I can recommend Beaditive High Precision Detail Scissors, presently available at Amazon, which I sometimes use.

Expires in 6 months
Fast delivery but mangled box, and quick expiration if it's only for occasional use. Inside packaging was intact and most blister packs of loperamide are just like this one (annoying) but have been for some years now unfortunately.

Can’t open
Love this product. I use frequently, but these caplet blister cards are impossible to open without scissors. Not for on the go (ha!).

Generic drug, works fine, but packaging inspires RANT
No complaints about this product! But why oh why oh WHY does it seem that this medication is no longer available in convenient bottles of, say, 30, or 60, or 100.... you know, the way OTC drugs are normally packaged? I can only seem to find it now in these horrible inconvenient time-wasting plastic-bubbles-on-cards-in-a-box, requiring a scissors or other sharp blade to slice open the packaging that protects each pill so very very well. It's just an antidiarrheal tablet. As far as I know, you can't get high on 'em or use them to make something to get high on (Let me know if I'm wrong.... in detail please). It's already cumbersome to buy sudafed, even years after small scale meth labs (which bought those in bulk) have become nearly extinct in the US. Hope we're not going down that road again.
