This is a good set for general coloring. The 36 colors are pastel, rather than vivid, so deep or bright coloring is difficult to produce. There are 4 yellows, 5 oranges, 3 rose-to-red, 3 purples, 3 blues, 7 greens, 6 browns, and one each of gray, black (more of a charcoal), white (!!), and "metallic" silver and gold, which are not very metallic. I would have preferred more blues & purples instead of the white or metallic colors and several tones are so similar in shade that there is very little difference (2 yellows, 2 oranges, 2 browns, 2 greens). The lead is soft and goes down somewhat waxy, so layering colors to produce another tone, while possible, is a little difficult since the waxiness doesn't lend itself to blending. Would I order this set again? Yes. For the price, you get a pretty good selection and for fun coloring they do the job. For serious artwork, maybe something else that blends better would be the ticket. The photo shows my first attempt (left) and current project (right)

Today I completed my first drawing with these pencils (see copy below). I do not have a lot of experience with other sets, but I did find these easy to hold, easy to sharpen (the included sharpener did a good job), and offering a nice variety of colors. The description for the set does state they are pastel, so if you are expecting bolder or darker colors, then you will need to supplement this set with another one. If you do not, then as other reviewers have noted, you will need to press harder (I pressed fairly hard and the points held up). Speaking of points, the price point on this set is reasonable. When I purchased mine earlier this year they were more than twice as much. At the current price I would be more likely to purchase these and a second set with bolder and darker colors as well.

I. LOVE. THESE. PENCILS.I bought these pencils for my two adult coloring books that I purchased for a trip I just returned from. I love the variety of colors that come inside of the pack and the pencil sharper works pretty good too (nothing amazing though). The ONLY issue I have with the colors are they won't get very dark (even the dark colors) but I can deal with that. So if you are looking for pencils that have alot of tint to them, then these may not work for you.

These are beautiful colors and a well-schemed color selection. The pencils outline patterns perfectly with their fine points, which is very useful for small pictures and intricate designs. The only drawback is that the pencils do not have color labels. I just returned a recent purchase for the same item from a different vendor only because it did not have color labels. As an adult user of coloring books/pictures for leisure and relaxation, I would much prefer a collection that has color labels; hence the 4-star rating only. Price is great.

These are decent. There's a weird color variety. There doesn't seem to be a true red, and there's a lot of shades of yellow. The pencil lead fell out of some of the pencils when I would sharpen them.

My girls received adult coloring books for Christmas. We had some colored pencils in the house but every time they were sharpened, the lead would fall out. I purchased these coloring pencils and they are wonderful. Easy to hold, sharpen and so many colors. I ended up buying another pencil set for my niece who also has an adult coloring book. I highly recommend them.

I agree with prior reviews, this is a very nice set of colors and I think they are very good quality.
