This tail is good for both children and adults.

I think there was a little elastic band if you wanted to slip it through a belt. We just used a safety pin. Very cute set.

Q: how long is the tail?

about 8 inches - it is also very fat, considering the ears are quite small (about 2.5 inches long) . bought it to use for a parade and gave it to the kids to play with afterwards. must be quite durable - picked it off from the floor the other day - so it is alive and well... also the color is more black/gray than brown/black which is what I usually think of for coons.
