The Archeo: Personal Archetype Cards

He takes pains to write this isn't an oracle deck (Pgs 5, 131, 133), but gives very little advice on how to use it in a practical sense. Since this is supposed to be such a radically different deck a bit more help (and less fluff) on how to work with it is needed. Instead the only concrete example of an example reading is on page 133 and he offers a single sentence of how the cards might be interpreted. The rest is all rhetorical questions and 'use your imagination.' For something that tries so hard not to be an oracle deck it sounds a lot like one.

My husband and I spent the entire morning exploring this deck. The archetypes are original, beautiful, and thought-provoking. Unlike oracle or tarot decks, this is not something you can dip into quickly. We spent hours talking after doing a spread for each of us, and both felt this was something to be worked with over the years. Highly recommended.

I have found this gorgeous deck of Nick Bantock’s images and thought provoking writing to be a stunning achievement in art, writing and publishing production value. These cards are beautiful. The artwork is wonderful and that's why I bought them. I'm not using them for the purpose they were made. I'm using them in my own way and because the art was lovely.

These cards lead you to explore your personal archetypes and discover hidden aspects of your psyche. These will be excellent prompts for journaling. The cards themselves are visually interesting, and the full color guidebook is a nice added bonus. Well worth the months I waited to receive them.My only beef is they are just a bit too long for my small hands to shuffle. That said I have the same problem with many decks.
