Cold Hot Shoe to Male 1/4-20 Thread Adapter for Black Magic Pocket Cinema 4K Camera

It's a bit overpriced for what it actually is, but I had a hard time finding it elsewhere so I was just happy to find it at all. It's a sturdy all metal construction that should last for a long long time provided you don't lose it. I bought it to attach a cold shoe mic off camera on a video rig, and it works great.

This mount does the job, but I later realized I needed something much simpler. I've since discovered two important criteria to consider when purchasing a cold shoe mount:- Can this mount be tightened in any orientation? Yes. We all know how frustrating it is to mount something to a rig and have it tighten while facing the opposite direction. The thumb fastener under this cold shoe mount allows you to tighten the mount to your rig in exactly the orientation you need. That's a necessity.- Do I really need the thumb screw for width adjustment? In my case, no. I wanted to mount a Rode VideoMic Pro, which already has a built-in thumb fastener which can tighten down onto a fixed-width cold shoe, so the width adjustment knob served no purpose for me.Most gear that include cold shoe mounts (shotgun mics, LED lamps, etc.) also include the aforementioned thumb fasteners, so depending on your needs, you may be able to get away with a much lower profile cold shoe mount without the thumb screw adjustment included on this adapter.

I bought a lot of stuff from Amazon and this is my first review for this small piece, just because I tried several cold shoes to put on a camera cage. They all sucked! Hard to mount and difficult/imposible to tight them and to face in the right direction in the same time!This is great!

I think is a real good product, is all metal and it looks like it would last a lifetime. And the price is good for me, my only thing was that it did not align properly on my camera gearbox cage but I will buy again for sure.

Not perfect. Can't move the ring adjustment tight enough to a cage for rotation to stop completely. The side screw that locks in top bracket gets tight and looks bad when screwed down as the U-shaped bracket tilts off center.

I use this to put a shoe on my Zacuto Half Cage. It's an oversight, but when I needed to mount a Røde Video Mic Pro, this came in super handy!

A little bulky however its a good solution of mounting a cold shoe to a 1/4 mount. A great part to add to your bag of tricks.
