Growing Gourmet Garlic for Profit (Profitable Plants)

The book was so thin when I opened it that I thought I received a pamphlet. I would consider this book a high level overview and not sufficient to do anything more than acquaint the reader with the idea of growing garlic. It offers some basic information on garlic varieties and growing process and attempts to provide elementary direction on commercializing and marketing one's product. A reader would be left with little direction on how to get started after reading this book. You would be better suited connecting with a local USDA farm office and website to get information for developing a farming business plan and to get connected with farming mentors with relevant experience. There is nothing in here you can't find by searching the web for an hour, which is more time than you will need to read this book.

Good introductory book about growing garlic for profit. It opened my eyes to the possibility of making some extra money doing something that I like to do. I would have liked to see a little more info about the success stories, but that is just me. I was happy that I bought it and I always think that if I learn just 1 think it was worth the money. I learned several things and would recommend it to anyone that wants to get into the garlic growing business for profit. Excellent recommendations for resources. Good, quick read.
