Heads or Tails (Jack Henry, 3)

I bought this book to read with my 6th graders this fall. I have only read the first story but believe my students will relate to the characters. The book contains short stories of brother and sister family life.

I loved the detail and description although, the end was a little bit of a let down because their dog got eaten, Gauthier neighbor tries to kill them, then it turns out they are not moving to cocoa beach after all. But other then that it was a great book!

My 6th-graders, especially the boys, love this story. They told me they wished it would have been assigned for their summer reading! They were so engaged when I read parts out loud.

These are great mentor stories for kids writing personal narrative. Jack Gantos is dark and funny when he just tells his own stories.

I gave it three stars because I'm a girl and this book really isn't a girl book it's more like a boyish book so it was ok
