Great base
I bought this for my 9' umbrella that is by itself and not in a table. I decided that my seating area around my fire pit needed an umbrella due to the intense Colorado sun. I was looking at the cantilever style however the bases for that style were way too big for my small patio. After a lot of research, I ordered the Fruiteam heavy-duty base and I have not been disappointed. It was easy to fill with water and to move even with the water in it. I have had several windy days and my umbrella has not gone over. I'm getting ready for winter so I'll be storing it soon. I'm hoping it will be as easy to drain the water as it was to fill it!!

Nut Cutting It
I had to replace the base of my patio umbrella, which was 62lbs, but didn't want to spend $100 or more on another concrete one. I understood that this base would only be able 50lbs, but the reviews indicated it worked. Not so, as the first strong breeze to come along knocked it over. I then tried to fill it with sand instead, but the hole is too small and my funnel won't even fit in it. Why suggest sand if needed and then make it practically impossible to fill with sand???

Fill the base with water or sand, hold basic umbrella well
The instructions was a pictured guide and all you have to do is to fill the base with water fully, then screw in the tube to the bottom of the base. The filled up base was actually quite heavy so I have no doubt that it would hold up the umbrella well. I personally have used a heavy metal stand before and this base is definitely easier to move and will not stain your patio surface. Although since the reservoir is plastic, I'd recommend removing the umbrella before moving the base.

Nice
Using as free standing umbrella support- no table for stability. After filling with water this thing is pretty stable and worked fine... until I had a few wind gusts. Emptied the water as best I could and used a small funnel to pour sand into it. Took some patience to get a bag of sand into the small fill hole but eventually worked and then topped off with water. This thing is now much heavier and hasn’t moved since, even under windy conditions.

Broken screw!
The bag in which all the small parts were included was torn, the screw that’s needed to secure the pipe to the base was out of the bag and broken (thus too short) and useless. I’ll need to go find an identical screw at a hardware store, and attempt to use the base without the screw until then. It’s hard to imagine that a steel screw would break during the shipment alone, and I can’t imagine the person who packed it didn’t notice that the screw was broken!

Unstable Base - Easily Tipped Over
Purchased this base due to great reviews. Intended use was free standing no table. Unfortunately didn't work for me. When assembled the base was not level and wobbly. The base plate that you bolt on to the inserted pole was not level with the base. I tried numerous times. I think the bolt threads in the pole were misaligned and when I tightened bolt it tilted the base plate slightly. The result is the umbrella could easily tip over. I am returning and purchasing a different brand. If you purchase suggest checking before filling with water or sand.

Stabilizes my umbrella!
So we moved from a place with a screened-in patio, and we didn't need an umbrella. We moved, and geez, the sun!! We an umbrella that fit thru the table, but it was very unstable, especially if there was any wind. My neighbors had one of these umbrella bases, so I started looking online. I decided to give this one a try. It's hollow plastic so I don't have to worry about rust, and it took all of 5 minutes to assemble. I filled it with water, and that thing isn't going anywher anytime soon! It grips the umbrella in 2 places with adjustable screws. And it looks great!

Not as Good as Previous Stand
We ordered an umbrella base last year which works very well. We needed another one and went to our previous order to reorder. However, what we received wasn't the same as our original stand. The original stand had two adjustment screws. The one we received only had one, therefore it wasn't as stable as the first one we bought. We did manage to exchange it and received what we wanted, and are happy with the new product.
