Lee's2-1/2 Original Undergravel Filter, 6-Inch by 12-Inch

Undergravel filters are old school & they work great I got one for a 2 1/2 gallon aquarium & fits just right. I had to cut the uplift tube a bit to make it for since it was just a bit to tall. I always suggest using an undergravel filter with most aquariums even if the aquarium uses another type of filtration.

I ordered this for a 3.5 gal tank I had gotten for a grandchild. The filter that came with the tank was a little underpowered, so I thought this would make a nice addition to help clean the tank as well as aeration.The 2-1/2 Lee Undergravel filter only comes with one upright airtube and charcoal filter. Only the larger filters come with dual tubes. The Air Tube is adjustible for the overall higth which is a plus.It comes with the base, three piece air tube, charcoal cartridge, about 12 inches of clear air line, and an air line adapter.Make sure you put only 1 or 2 layers of gravel on the filter, any more and it will diminish it's capacity.Overall it did a good job to help keep the tank clear.Quality is on par with most undergravel filters and would also be a good addition for a small goldfish tank where you didn't want to run a traditional aquarium filter setup.

I bought this'd filter for a plastic tank about the size of a 2.5 gallon aquarium. It fits well enough except that the uplift tube with the outlet attached was too tall for the tank. I simply removed the outlet, since the only purpose it serves is to hold the carbon cartridge and prevent small fish from swimming down the tube. The filter still works and it cleared out all the silt suspended in the water after planting within less than an hour.I would give this filter more stars if it weren't too tall for the tank. Otherwise, it's an excellent filter.

Arrived with product package smashed. Only contained 1 tube a filter, not as pictured and no directions.

This in gravel filter works good, but I found it to be harder to clean my tanks with the In gravel filters. They make it necessary to do a full clean every week bc the debris is under it. In a small tank, it is almost impossible to vacuum. It’s easier to just take the fish out and dump and clean.

Fits perfectly in 5.5 gal. Tank. It works as expected for use of biological filter. It is as described and came very quickly. It has only one tube and opening for use with carbon liter. One filter is included. I am very happy with my purchase. I actually should have purchased 2nd tube to be used on other side after punching out hatched spot on base for use with zeolite head. Head sold separately by same manufacturer.

I have several small betta aquariums that rely on undergravel filtration and my 2.5 gallon that has this one stays clear and clean. I drive them all from one large pump off of a gang valve. I do put filter pad down on the top of each filter plate before I place my substrate. This has proven effective for undergravel filtration for the 15 years I have been doing it.
