Thick Padding is Uncomfortable
To preface this, I’m a professional musician and was looking for a budget-friendly strap as I don’t use my saxophone as often. I’m a smaller person, around 5’2, so I got the student size. The padding on this neck strap is so thick that it digs into my neck and irritates my skin. It’s rigid and uncomfortable. I’m an adult, so I can only imagine how rough this would be on a child with a smaller frame. This also came with a bizarre extra loop of black webbing fabric? It was of a different texture than the rest of the neck strap and didn’t have a clear purpose. The clasp seemed to be of good quality. The red fabric was also interesting; it has a bit of a sheen or sparkle to it.All matters considered, other than marching, I don’t feel that these straps are very practical. If your child is struggling with discomfort, try placing a cloth or small hand towel between the strap and their neck until they adjust to the feeling.

Just what a child needs if playing the sax in band! Saved his neck lots of misery!
The strap was bought for comfort and it lived up to all his hopes! It will last all his years in band and he was so grateful for the strap!

Great for the young player
I purchased this neck strap for my 10-year old daughter, who is in her first year of band. She had been complaining that her old strap "cut into her neck" and was uncomfortable. I recalled how much I liked my Neotech when I was in college, so when I saw that they were making a "junior" size, I was sold. Bonus - they made it in her school color, too!She loves it - says it makes playing more fun, and doesn't hurt anymore. Great product, just the right size for the elementary player. Will increase their enjoyment of music, and let them play more and longer. You wouldn't think of all those benefits from just a neck strap, but comfort is key - if kids are uncomfortable, they'll give up playing a lot quicker.Great product.

Great for Children
We have a 1st time band student and this strap is so much better than the one the school loans. Before this purchase it was hard for our child to want to practice for their saxophone for 20 minutes due to pain around the neck. After this purchase we have not had any issues with pain at all.

Quality strap
This strap was great, but after seeing my 10 year old play his sax with it attached, I realized the junior size was too small for him. I ended up ordering him a new one, same brand and all, just the extended version so it'll last him longer as it's adjustable as well. Great quality and he says it's very comfortable! Donating the junior size strap to his school in hopes a smaller kid could use it!

Twisted Straps
I wanted to buy American, but:- The first order arrived with a strap twisted halfway around at one of the neck pad attachment sew points.- So did the second (after a return/exchange).I guess they're all like this? Must be an artifact of the manufacturing process. No one would have designed it to be like this. Not a feature fans of symmetry would appreciate -- or those who need to pull the strap all the way up. Ultimately I had to buy something else.

Much better size than the regular!
I had the regular size, but couldn't shorten it enough to play my alto. Seemed ok for awhile, but the buckle would loosen, and the strap might have stretched a little. After awhile, I was constantly trying to shorten and couldn't. Enter the junior size - fits great, just as comfortable, and lots of room to shorten! I'm 5'7" tall adult.

Quality strap
Bought this after seeing it was the same one (in black) my son's soprano sax from school had with it. I needed one I could alter for him because he is so small it wouldn't adjust high enough. He likes the nice foam neck pad. There is really no improving on this that I can see for a small sax. You might question the plastic swivel hook on a tenor sax.
