Bought for every day use, NO big hills or mountains for me!
Bought for every day use, NO big hills or mountains for me!These arrived TODAY, I intent to revisit this review if any problems arise, Delivered super quick, I am a UK size 11 (cursed with wide feet) so the first thing is holding these in my hand examining the first thing I notice is they do not look super big (I will not look like Frankenstein's monster while wearing) they are also surprisingly light, the product pic's make the flashes of colour on the sole look much brighter than they are IRL, The tongue isfitted to the fourth lace, so stepping in deep puddle, will offer 'SOME' protection from the damp, these are not Wellington boots, so do not try fjording any streams, but ankle high wet heather will be a much dryer experience. As they are new I have found them to be comfortably tight, as I wear thin sock's This is not a problem, If your socks are sporty (cotton towelling style) or thick walking sock's you will need to get a bigger size, I am a UK 11, and ordered a 11.5, and they just fit, so by the time you get your mountaineering socks on these boots will not fit, spoiling your ambitions of conquering 'Everest'.Some of the customer Q&A's mention that they are rigid sole's, I would disagree, they are as rigid as any pair of leisure soles, No where near as rigid as a standard dress shoe's (such as leather brogue's) I have pairs of dress shoes, with leather soles less than half as thick as these soles, and stiffer. So if you feel you need more sole support, I personally do not think you will find it here. These again are brand new and tight, so after some wear they will stretch to give me the extra room I need, but the next time I will order a full size larger.... there will be a next time, I love these boots, but should I find any problem in the coming months I will amend this to give the best info I can.EDIT 20/11/20:It's my birthday soon, I was gifted another pair of these by a relative. This prompted a revisit of my review, I am still wearing my first pair, showing a little wear on the sole. the tread is still there and I am still pleased with them, infact I am more pleased as I estimate they will last just as long again, I'm thinking I'll get about 5 years of use from them, they do not look old and scruffy, I've not given any special cleaning, just the reasonable care such as making sure they do not sit in the bottom of a cupboard soaking wet from a previous walk.I still recommend these, and think they are fantastic.

Appalling service
A faulty stud meant that boots could not be laced so I requested a return and replacement. No returns labels included so I asked for one to be emailed. No response so had to write a note to explain reason for return and request for replacement. I was told to pay for tracked return which cost over £11. Refund was processed rather than replacement so I had to pay postage for second pair, now totalling £21 for postage! Incredibly, the replacement arrived- the same pair of boots that I had returned! I’ve requested a refund for the boots and postage costs but had no reply. Do not buy these boots from this seller!!!!

Comfortable and good value
Can't really judge durability but the boots seem well made and definitely find them more comfortable than the Hi-tech's I owned before although the insoles don't feel quite as moulded but that seems to work really well for me.They are also wider than my other boots which again suits me well. I wasn't sure whether to get wide-fit and in reality I'm probably somewhere in between but these are wide enough for me.I also bought my normal shoe size and that seems to have worked out okay but do wonder if I should have got a half size bigger. Difficult what to know what would be better without being able to try on a larger boot but having said all that I'm happy enough.

Arrived broken
These arrived with a missing eyelet.I asked to return them and was given a full refund. Not wishing to throw them away, I attempted to wear them.A second eyelet pinged off the first time I wore them. It is now impossible to tighten either shoe.I kept the laces and the insoles and threw the rest away. What a waste of resources, producing boots as kaka as this.

Comfortable but not without issues
I normally like to try boots on before buying but lockdown 3.0 was announced before I could get to a shop, and so I ordered a pair of these boots, size 10.5.I ordered on a Thursday, and the original shipping notification advised following Wednesday as delivery which was followed by a amended delivery date for the Saturday, (over one week from order date). They were actually delivered on the Saturday two days after ordering, so I was pleased with the actual delivery but confused by the notifications.Despite reservations, the boots proved quite comfortable from the start. One drawback with the boots was one of the insole became detached after a weeks use. Instead of requesting a refund / replacement I stuck the insole in for myself.

Budget Hiking Boot
Pros:+ Comfy as soon as I got them+ Relatively cheap+ Sizes were bang onCons:- Insoles slipped after about three months and wouldn't stay in place- Lace eyes seem to wear through laces pretty quickly (I went through four pairs of laces)- Not particularly durableI bought these boots in April 2018 and by December 2018 I had worn through the sole completely. A rough estimate is I walked about 700 miles in these shoes, almost exclusively on pavement as I wore them to and from work and pretty much everywhere else! Personally, I am a bit annoyed these didn't even last me a year but ah well. They were comfortable without needing to be broken in and the sizes were pretty accurate but I've never known shoes like this to cause so much wear on laces! I've had Karrimor boots before these that have been both cheaper and lasted longer with equal usage so I could only really recommend these as a long term investment for anyone who will use them infrequently or at least not every day.
