Our cat needs to go outside sometimes as she was feral before moving in with us. I got this harness to after trying a simpler type and another harness that was cheap and ill fitting. This harness fits her well (S/M) and she's about 9 lbs. She walks just a little awkwardly in it, but she can run and jump if she wants to. It can get caught on things as any harness can but overall I really like the design and materials seem to be high quality. The Velcro is strong and getting it off her can be a little bit of a chore but she can't shake it off either. This with a leash of some kind is really the only responsible way to give a cat outside time as it keeps them safe and protects birds and lizards from the cat as well. Quality product and she is happy to be going outside regularly again.

This thing is awesome - we got a second cat and had to immediately get a second Kitty Holster. Every other cat harness either has a buckle that snaps and startles the cat, or has two permanent leg-holes that you're supposed to somehow wrangle the cat's front limbs into. This one is different and worth the price just for the ability to attack from above! Just place the harness on kitty's back and wrap it around. Quick, easy, secure.The Velcro is VERY strong - one time our cat got spooked (encountered a horse for the first time) and sprinted off in an absolute panic, but the harness didn't budge and she stayed safely attached to us at the other end of the leash. The sizing is generous - our adult cat (in photos) weighs 9.5 lbs and the XS fits perfectly. New kitten is 4 months old, 3 lbs, and the XS is way too big. If your cat has never worn a harness before, it will probably flop over as if paralyzed when you first put it on - it takes A LOT of practice for kitty to realize he can still walk with a harness on. For our cat, the harness has a calming effect, like a swaddling blanket. The reflective strips are really good quality and add an extra layer of security at night. The pink is neon pink! The yellow is not neon yellow, but is a nice bright yellow anyway. With the right cat personality, and plenty of patience and treats, this is the perfect tool to help your cat develop into an adventure cat!

This harness is really well-constructed! The velcro seems like it might not be strong enough to hold a cat, but with the sheer amount of it that is used your cat really isn't going to get out of it (unless you don't put it on properly, then they might). I got the bright pink & reflective harness because my cat is completely black and I worry about visibility issues if I take him out. The reflective strip is quite bright, and the pink fabric is an impressive neon that is quite eye-catching. I took off one star, however, because my cat just can't seem to deal with wearing this harness. He goes into corpse mode as soon as it's on him, keeling over and refusing to move, even when I try to tempt him with treats. I suspect if I took him outside with it on to a nice quiet, wooded area he might forget he was wearing it, but I haven't tried that yet. Also, he's put on some weight since I bought this (he's a 12 lb cat who was a skinny 9 lbs when I adopted him) and doesn't fit into it quite as easily anymore, so I'm hoping my other cat grows into it

I don't walk my cat on a leash. I let him out in a rural area. But when I do I want him to be as safe and visible to traffic as possible. This vest stays on and looks so cute. He's like a little construction worker out there. Its easy to take off and put on. I've tried it on a fixed leash and although it's harder for him to escape he does pull backward and pull it off so it's not escape proof, but for a nice reflective vest this works well.

First bought through website then ordered more from here.Ordered Small - my cats are between 9-12 lbs. My two boys are tall - this is one of them.Quality is fantastic on these. Love that these come with training info because mine weren't raised on this, but like to dart outside. They are learning that to go outside means to put on the harness and 2 of them actually trot for the door if they see me holding the harness. I'm a safety nitpick so I really favor this setup.One of my cats won't have it but I knew she wouldn't - all of mine are rescue and she had a harsh background. The rest of them were rusty, obviously, to begin with but we are getting more used to it each time.Today I took one of my boys out (not pictured) and have been only tightening it so much as to lead him not control him (he just putters). Well he got a wild hair and decided to back out of it. All I did was fit it more snug and keep the leash above him and he's fine. Little snot.In other words, no harness is escape proof but this one is really great. Not only escape resistant, but one of my girls hates strap harnesses but at least will let me put this on her.The only recommendation is pull tabs. The sound of the velcro is jarring for some cats especially rescues that may have some fight/flight issues. Be interested to know if you could do a buckled variety but not critical. I do think pull tabs would help as I have some hand dexterity issues and its a little difficult getting hold of the sides especially if the cat is ready to be out and is wigglewomping. It's high quality velcro (not complaining there!) so it isn't the easiest to pull.Great product!

The day I received this, I wrote my phone number on it for emergencies, wrote "outdoor kitty" and wrote "Do not feed." Then I wrapped my kitty in it and set him free for the first time. SO MUCH EASIER than a harness and no escape. SO MUCH BETTER than a collar. Big reflectors. EXTREMELY STRONG VELCRO. Two weeks now, no issues.

Difficult for cats to get out of (but not impossible) - our cat can get loose if he pulls away from the leash facing away from us. Would recommend though.
