THIS PRODUCT ALMOST KILLED MY DOG IN 3 MINUTES
EDIT 10/29:Surprisingly As of yet I have not heard a response from the sellerLet me preface this by saying I have bought bones from this company at least 5 times in the last year and the antler has lasted several weeks each time and sometimes as long as a month. In the previous orders the antler has arrived with 1,2 and sometime 3 tines from the base, this piece was a single straight piece of antler. I gave this to my redbone coonhound as usual and WITHIN 30 SECONDS I could hear the antler breaking apart and 3 minutes later my dog began gagging and coughing. After PRYING the dogs mouth open I could see a thick sliver of bone caught embedded horizontally across my dogs throat. I had to struggle to remove the piece of antler which was wedged firmly in his throat and gums, this was very traumatic for a dog that was already choking. This antler basically began to come apart as soon as the dog began chewing it, you can see from the photos what happened to the antler and you can also see the blood from where it was embedded in my dogs throat. This incident should have never occurred if there was quality control in place at the sellers end. I take some responsibility because when I took it out of the package I thought the antler didnt look solid through like the previous antlers had, however I am not any kind of expert in the growth and formation of deer antlers and based on my previous experience with this seller I assumed all would be well...my bad and because of that my dog almost died today

Looks like a good bone
Looks like a good bone, but found a shard of metal in the bone. Almost looks like the tail end of a nail. Now I cannot let my dogs have this.

Not thick enough
I'm a bit disappointed in this as it is very skinny and long. Also had a little piece sticking up from the side I found to be too pointy I had to grind it down. I have ordered several of theses from different companies and there's was much thicker than this one. I have posted pictures of what my dog did to this she didn't even have it for a day terrible item

My dog loves it.
I love this product. My pitbull mix tears through items for "heavy chewers" within a matter of minutes to hours. I bought him a real bone, but the sharp edges and cracking sounds scared me! I was constantly sanding it and checking his teeth. The antler has lasted very well. He really chews on it, but I don't hear anything that sounds like his teeth breaking lol. It also doesn't get the sharp edges like the real bone and doesn't upset his tummy. All in all, I'm very satisfied.

Dangerous Chew for Dogs
They weren't kidding when they said to supervise your dog as they chew the antler. My husky managed to splinter one end of the antler into several pointy/sharp shards within minutes. These are sharp enough to cut your flesh. I wouldn't want these going in my dog's digestive tract.I did some reading and found others online sharing stories regarding broken teeth and emergency vet visits. Needless to say, I made a poor decision when selecting a chew for my dog and I will not be buying another antler for her. It's simply a risk not worth taking.

Great value--why did I get only one?
This is a great product at a great price.I have two Border Collies. The younger one, like all young dogs, NEEDS to chew. Chewing helps the dog calm themselves and it gives them something to do. Both my dogs aren't allowed to have squeaky toys or stuffed toys. They are too aggressive at chewing out the squeaker or shredding the stuffed toy (and potentially ingesting the contents). They need something that can last and last. For the price, you cannot get a better antler than this one. I'm pleased with the sizes. They generally last 4-6 weeks, which is a win in my book.I will say that I'm very careful with dog toys. I do supervise the dog's interactions with the toy. That antler, which is now about 8 inches long, will get chewed to about 4 inches, at which point I'll take it away as there's a risk they could swallow it. Please note that this is not unique to the antler chew but to every chew. If the chew gets to the point where it could fit entirely in the dog's mouth, there's a risk of the dog accidentally ingesting it.The only problem is that I ordered only one last time. I needed to have ordered at least two! My other dog seems to know the difference between the newest antler and the used, but still serviceable older antler. I needed to order two!

These are good antlers. They are the size indicated and dogs ...
These are good antlers. They are the size indicated and dogs love them. I happen to have a very voracious chewer and the only things that last more than an hour are antlers and the indestructible nylabones. Having said that, there is only one type of antler that works for her. Elk, Moose, and even Deer can be chewed to nubs in hours or just a few days, except for one. The white deer antlers are, for some reason, beyond her ability to damage and last more than a month. Unfortunately, there is no way of knowing in advance whether the deer antlers ordered are the ones that are brown or the whiter more durable kind. That is the reason for the loss of a star on the review. If you don't have this issue with your dog they are definitely a 5 star product.

Didn't last.
I've ordered antlers before and they are by far my dogs favorite chew toy. This one arrived yesterday at 5 pm. The photo above is what is left. I ordered the 6-8 inch one and as you can see there is maybe 2 inches left. I've ordered different antlers from another company at Christmas. That one is still floating around my house somewhere and had lasted a long time. It was out of stock when i went to order again so I settled on this one. My dog is a 50lb german shepherd mix that is a VERY aggressive chewer. If you want something that will entertain your dog for a few hours than this is great. If you want one that will entertain them for months go with a different one.
