What may happen if you buy this rower...
First things first - Yes, you can remove the Mr. Rudolph decal easily so that you don’t have to be reminded of that intolerable reindeer every time you work out.Second things second – The rower is well constructed, easy to put together, and provides a great workout.Last things last – Here is what might happen to you if you buy this rower and you are a 49 year-old 190 pound man and you stand about 5 foot 11 inches tall and you wear a size 36 waist and have love-handles you are beginning to really dislike:You may find two large packages arrive at your home on time, but that they are too heavy for your stay-at-home wife to move out of the rain. You may find the first real workout this rower provides is your moving it from the front porch to your workout room. You might then find that your 10 year-old daughter helps you unpack and assemble the rower, and you may notice that it is so easy to put the rower together, that her help is all you need. You may also notice that, once assembled, this is the first real piece of exercise equipment you own aside from a few dusty dumbbells you bought ten years ago and never really used.Once assembled, you might read the directions and find they suggest your first workout should be for only 10 minutes, and that you should slowly increase workout duration to 20 minutes, then 30 or 40 minutes, and eventually even up to an hour and a half. You might immediately think to yourself, “there is no way in hell I am going to sit on this thing for an hour and a half.” You could then put workout clothes on and row row row your boat for the suggested 10 minutes. You might then find the ten-minute initial workout was good advice, because your hands and butt hurt. The next day you may notice that you have already improved very slightly, and that your 15 minute workout was more enjoyable, but your hands and butt still hurt. The next few days you may find that you increase your workout to 20 then 30 minutes, and now your hands and butt are really hurting. So, you might purchase workout gloves and a rower seat cushion. When these arrive, you may be very happy because they somewhat alleviate the hand and butt discomfort. You may notice that the butt pain is just never going to completely go away. You may just have to deal with that. After the first week of rowing strange and unexpected things may happen. For example, you may find yourself playing games based on rower’s excellent display panel, which tracks the elapsed time, the distance you have theoretically rowed, and the power of each stroke you row. One game you might play is to row as hard as you can at the end of each kilometer to see if you can beat the clock. You may be surprised how this game makes the time go by faster for some reason, probably because you are dreading the end of the kilometer, and dreading an upcoming event makes time fly. You may then add a high intensity rowing at the half kilometer mark too.Another strange thing that may happen is that, while you are aiming for a 30 minute workout every day, you don’t stop at 30 minutes! Instead, when you get to 30 minutes, you might think to yourself, “I can do ten more minutes and get to 40” and then when you get to 40, you could think “I can do 5 more minutes and get to 45.” This strange behavior may spiral out of control until you find yourself regularly rowing for an hour or more a day, and sometimes even two hours on the weekends. After two weeks of this odd behavior, you may also notice some other strange things. First, you may notice that after the first two weeks, your weight has decreased. While at first, you may not have actually known how much you weighed, you may start weighing yourself naked each morning. Crazy. The first time you do this, you may be 189 pounds. After the next week, you may be down to 187 pounds, and you may think to yourself “wow, this rowing machine working is actually making a difference.” This may encourage you to keep working out. It also may make you dust off your old dumbbells and start doing some curls. Your dumbbells may seem a lot heavier than you remembered. After about a week of dumbbell workouts, they become much easier and you may start developing some definition in your biceps. Also at the two-week mark, some extraordinarily unexpected things might happen. You might start considering a change in your diet. This may come as a real surprise to you because you may have purchased the rower precisely because you didn’t want to diet at all, and you preferred to exercise. However, the good results you are seeing may have you intrigued about a potential change in diet. You may not change your diet at all though—at least not yet. After a month, you may notice that you now weigh 182 pounds. Most of the weigh may have come off of other parts of your body besides your belly and love handles. You may notice that your face looks thinner and more youthful. People may comment on this. The fact that people notice may serve as further encouragement to continue rowing. You may even start researching fat loss from rowing. You may also start researching what causes fat to accumulate in the first instance. You might learn about processed carbohydrates, sugar, and insulin sensitivity. You might think “holy crap, I never realized that insulin can cause obesity, and it is really scary that so much of what I eat is harming myself.” You may then start avoiding certain foods that you used to like, but which you now think could be the root cause of your love handles in the first place.” You might stop eating chips while watching sports. You may do something remarkably unexpected like eating celery and cottage cheese that you added chipotle seasoning to during the games. You may find this is almost as satisfying as he chips and salsa. “Woah!” you may think. “What the hell am I becoming?”Nevertheless, you may continue this behavior and these workouts. Over the next month, you might find that your weight goes down to 174.0 pounds. You may be disappointed that the extra tenth of a pound prevented you from being 173.9 pounds. Your love handles may already be gone, although you may notice that some belly fat in the front remains. There is no way your size 36 jeans fit anymore, so you may go to the store and buy some size 34 jeans. Even those may be starting to feel loose. At this point you may notice that your muscle definition is starting to look pretty good too. You may not be sure if that is from rowing or from the new dumbbell workout you have been doing, which now may consist of many exercises now instead of just curls. You may have had to purchase new dumbbells too, as the old ones are far too light to do any good anymore. Even your new dumbbells may be starting to feel too light at this point.Your wife may notice that you are looking good. This may prompt her to start using the rower. She may start off with at 10 minute working, and then work her way up to 40 minutes over the first two weeks. She may start looking better. The first thing you may notice is that her butt looks better than it has in years. She may be happy about that. She may continue working out, and the two of you may find yourselves competing for time on the rower. At this point you may notice that you feel pretty good about the way you look. You may have gone clothes shopping to get some clothes that show off your new body, which may still need work, but which already looks pretty good. Your biceps, triceps, and lats are great. Your back may have a shape like a V, and your ribs may show nicely. You may go to buy some dress shirts, and the sales lady may recommend that you purchase a slim fit shirt. You may buy some tighter t-shirts too, which you may wear proudly showing your arms and upper body off. You may go to a party, and your friends who have not seen you over the last two months may say how great you look. You may go shopping for groceries with your daughter, and be proud of how you look instead of insecure about your love handles. Your wife may be looking pretty good too. You may wonder why you didn’t do this before. You may even be optimistic that you can get back to the 165 pounds you weighed in college when you were on the swim team. You may be really happy. Finally, having lost 17 pounds in just over two months, you may decide to write a review of the rower for Amazon. That is what MAY happen if you purchase this rower.

Beauty, Function and Money Saving
When people think of doing cardio, running is always the first option, but i have ankle joint problem... There are not many options left, after doing lots research, compare to Elliptical and stair climber, the rowing machine is much cheaper.I purchased this product two weeks ago and I feel like it's time to write a product review.Pros:1. This WOOD rowing machine is rather a furniture if kept in a living room, you just let it stand vertically against the wall when not using it and it only takes a vacuum size space.2. It's pretty to assemble it.3. The seat moves smoothly on track, belt aligned well and it is STABLE for sure (at least for a 160 lb dude)4. I love the water sound and wooden boat design, really bring you the boating feeling, well, just try it, close your eyes and start imagining.5. Affordable, this model is a lot cheaper than the similar product from WaterRower.Cons:1. The monitor could be bigger, I have nearsighted. This product is totally worth for 800 dollars, I love this amazing equipment, not and won't regret buying it.

Close you eyes, and imagine you are rowing on the lake!
Rowing is my exercise of choice. I had a good rower but it was not a (REAL ) water rower like this one. I wanted a water rower for that real hard workout like rowing on water. If you have never rowed , you might want to , it will get your abbs, back and thighs and arms in killer shape, without hurting your knees, and my knees bother me more and more the older I get. I did not want to spend $3000 on a water rower so when I found this rower, at well under $ 1000, I decided , I am splurging for my health. This is a great machine for the money, smooth, glides along like smooth butter and gives you a hard, hard work out. Great machine . The only thing I would ask the MFG is, why on earth did you put the water plug in such a hard place? It took longer to get the water in, than it did to put the rower together. Jeez, simple fix , move the water hole over 2 inches or less , and you have a perfect machine! I still highly recommend this machine, very good buy . I am very happy overall , with this product , plus the seller who gave me top notch service!

Great buy comparing to other similar machines
I was considering purchasing another WaterRower which was more than double the price of this brand. However, I am really glad I didn’t. This has identical features and the wood seems to be high quality as well.It arrived in two separate boxes. One for the rails and the remaining in a large box. Neither boxes were too heavy and I was able to take everything out and assemble the unit in about 30 minutes. Of course, it helps if you have a power tool with the appropriate Allen fitting. Otherwise, expect to spend about an hour or a bit more on assembling this thing. There’s no drilling required and the instructions are fairly simple to follow.I am 280lbs with fused spine and two vertebrae Removed and this thing has definitely helped me to get on the right path to lose weight and build more strength. I was worried that it put a lot of pressure eon my spine. However, following the directions to row correctly and warm up first, I have not seen any issues with it. Actually since this is helping me lose weight that by itself has helped to reduce the pain tremendously.I'm using distilled water in this as per instructions to not have to replace the water in the tank so often in order to avoid the bacteria build up. Of course, you can use filtered water as well.

SPM is not correct, but it's a nice rower.
It's a very reasonable deal for a wood frame water rower, but the SPM does not register accurately on my rower. So when I row at what would be around 20 or 22 strokes per minute it registers 115 strokes per minute. The seller told me not to worry about it. Which is disappointing, but I can still get a great workout from the machine. If you need/want the monitor to read correctly spend the extra money to invest in a waterrower or concept 2. If you are only concerned with getting a good workout, then this is a good deal.
