These things work!
We had a biting cat…..operative word - had. I started off with one of the OMG expensive calming collars from the pet store before I spotted these. Granted, they have a very strong smell! Fragrance, if you prefer. Even if you leave them out for an hour or so before putting them on the cat, they still smell really strong….not bad, mind you, just a very noticeable lavender + something odor. However, it doesn’t seem to bother the cats. We got a second kitten, not realizing she had been abused in a previous life, so she wears one too. After nine months, the two kitties get along like a dream, Toby doesn’t bite, & Molly is learning to be less fearful. No one has any bad reaction to the collars. These collars last twice as long as the more expensive “pet store” white ones, at a far more agreeable price. The only problem? I’m afraid to try taking them off!Besides, they’re so cute with their purple collars!

I recommend these to everyone.
I am a multpile times repeat buyer for this product. I had bought these to reduce behavior issues with my boys. One of them sprays when new animal smells come in the house which is frustrating because we do rescue work with our local shelter. The other two bicker over who gets the prized top bucket of the cat tree. I put these on them not expecting miracles. Within a day, the two pestering each other were curling up to snuggle in the bucket together and even grooming each other. This had never happened. The other stopped spraying for over a month before I had to put a new color on him. After that success, I bought them for my rescue semi-feral teenage kittens who have been with me for a while. The collars reduced their anxiety and stress so much I was able to behavioral train wland interact with them much easier. One ended up with the allergy to it so I had to remove. The other has been a joy since she had hers put on.I have sent the link for these to so many of my other rescue and shelter friends. It's my go to for significant behavioral issues for cats. I think we have put them on over 50 cats between us all and have had only a small handful be unsuccessful. If you have an allergy to lavender or hate the smell, you may want to look into other products.

They help - but not a perfect solution on their own
I have three cats, and unfortunately one was being bullied quite a bit by another. I’ve put these collars on them for a couple of months now, and they do seem to help. They are kind of tough to put on my long haired cats without getting hair trapped in them when you cinch them. The scent is strong when you’re close to the collar, and lingers on your hands after you put them on. The first few days are the quietest, as the cats pretty much just lounge around and rarely even acknowledge one another. As time goes on, the effects wear off more and more, through the scent is still there. I’d say after roughly three weeks the effects are pretty minimal. Still three weeks of peace is an improvement!

Zen for Fur Babies
My kitty is normally very snuggly and sweet but started having stress and separation anxiety during the day when I was at work. He was having accidents around the house and was very jumpy and over groomed himself. Tried this out and WOW. Started working very quickly.Lavender scent is just okay. Has a sort of..medical glove smell? If my kitty sits on me on the couch I can smell it slightly, so kinda strong. Benefits seem worth it to me though. He seems MUCH more relaxed and takes long naps again.

Not worth your money
- I don't see any difference in my cat's behavior. I bought this to help her on our upcoming trip to the airport. I went to my vet to ask for some sedatives instead. They made me give her two sedatives before her appointments so I figured they'd have no problem providing for the airport. Those meds definitely work way better than this collar does and they were cheaper. If you're trying to use this collar to help with a short-lived event, I recommend asking your vet for gabapentin, which you can just sprinkle on wet food.- It uses mostly lavender and chamomile, two plants that are listed as toxic to pets on the ASPCA. I checked my Sentry collar, and these are not used in that one. If you're trying to use a calming substance for a long-term thing, check out the Sentry collar or their plug-in.- It removed clumps of my cat's hair from it being stuck in the clasp of the collar (see picture).- I can smell it. If I can smell this so strongly, then my poor cat is probably getting overwhelmed with that smell. That worries me. I don't remember this happening with Sentry's products.

It is a risk I'm not willing to take
I had an appointment with my vet the day they arrived so I took them with me. First the Pheromone percentage is 1. And, as my vet reminded me, we don't know what type of pheromone they are using. And with 1% it just isn't worth it, it isn't enough to do anything. As for the lavender. He hasn't done much research, but he got a sheet of essential oils, good and bad, and lavender was on the list as, "It's okay to use." He also said he has clients who have used lavender and claim it is wonderful and others that say it's horrible. So, until there are some genuine, scientific studies, I'm just not going to risk it. My vet was of the opinion that I could try them if I wanted, but to keep a very close eye on my cats for the first couple weeks. So, nope. I am not even planning on sending it back, knowing they will just sell it to someone else whose cat has a bad reaction. Sooo, it gets tossed out. Might keep the tin though, it seems pretty useful for small items. If it works for you, that's great, but even though it is working now, just make sure you watch closely. Sometimes allergies can come out of nowhere.

Four days in: so far so good
Recently after moving, our elderly special needs cat started hollering at all hours of the night (and day). After four days with the collar he’s much more relaxed, and has stopped his nighttime serenades. The collar is softly scented; lavender and essential oils type of fragrance (as someone with a fragrance allergy this does not bother me). It was easy to adjust to fit his neck, and he’s comfortable with it on.Four days in, so far so good! Back to full nights sleep. Would definitely recommend, especially if you have a nocturnally vocal kitty.

Calms cat down gently
Moved into new place and our car cried for 2 days until I put the purple collar on her. She calmed down within an hour. Now we are on day 6 wearing it and she is back to being our old cat. Will definitely buy again if needed.

Huele bien, a lavanda
