The best cleaver (flipper) folding knife on the market!
Sick knife! Arrived very sharp and has stayed that way with some moderate use so far! I love it tho! It’s different than most other flip/folding knives!

Pretty sure it cuts Diamond.
Most dudes pick a watch from their collection before they leave the house. I pick a knife.I have over 30 pocket knives, ranging from CRKT, Kershaw, SOG, James Brand, SpyderCo, Wesn Goods, Gerbers, and even some Chinabrand BS.This knife is BY FAR my favorite one. It’s a cleaver style knife, I love cleaver folding knives, BUT I can’t carry em because the end is blunt (flat). Can’t self defend with a blunt knife, I may as well carry a stick.BUT, this Cleavy Gerber boy has a bit of a tip to it, not too much to ruin the aesthetic, and just enough to easily get pokey when someone in them streets tries to get freaky. Also LOVE the quick open thumb tab, and the safety groove in the blade for your index finger. Safety first boys and girls. And last but certainly not least, the blade. The blade is so sharp and so durable, that the only way it makes sense is if Gerber made a Time Machine and went back to get one of those Samurai sword making master dudes and brought him back.. to the future. (I had to do it).Gentlemen at Gerber, keep doing Gods work, and let me borrow that Time Machine for a weekend so I can invest in Apple / Microsoft in 1995. I’m too dumb to get rich without one.

Best EDC Knife
My EDC Knife, top Gerber quality. Bought this one when I lost my first one. Secure clip, quick one hand deploy.

Sharp!
This knife is sharp, the lock is a little tight. Not going to lie, cut myself a few days after receiving. Just a nick. It’s a great knife!

Love this knife
Gerber continues to redeem themselves. Overall, the Asada Onyx is a great knife. Out of the box it’s sharp and true (straight). Perfect EDC size. Love the clever blade and the handle texture is spot on. My only complaints are that it didn’t come in a box and there’s no lanyard hole. I used my Fastball for size comparison.

Love This Knife - But...
This knife is solid, and I'm not just talking about its razor sharpness and blade quality. The entire product is well constructed, solid, and just feels like a high quality instrument. I appreciate the clip (belt/pocket) and the "finger flipper" is actually useful. The blade is really thick, save for the cutting edge. There is no worry whatsoever that it will bend when you are cutting something really tough. The finger choil is good for when you want to do more precise cutting. Finally, I wasn't sure about the "butcher knife" shape of the blade, but I realize that it makes for a stronger blade compared to a longer, pointier tip. Even though the tip is shorter, it protrudes enough so that you can punch into things when you need to.I have two rants that speak to the safety of those who buy this knife for the first time. One is the packaging. It looks nice and has explanatory graphics on it, but it is the type that is difficult to open because the plastic shell is so tough. It would be easy to cut yourself on the plastic as you try to cut and tear it open. Worse, you could slice yourself on the open blade as you struggle to get it out of the tough packaging. I say either close the blade and rely on packaging graphics to show what the blade looks like, or make the packaging safer to open. The other rant is that there are no instructions on how to close the blade. I had to observe and tinker with it for a while before I figured it out. But if I were less patient, I could have sliced myself trying to close the blade. If the company is reading this, I strongly suggest a link to a short, company-made YouTube video on the features and functions of this knife. To summarize, great knife, but dangerous packaging and no instructions on how to close the blade. Buy it and be safe.
