The ear flaps are very warm and stay down in the wind but if it's really windy you can use the strap. The bill rides down a little but nothing compared to all the competitors. I tried them all both expensive and cheap and this is by far the most comfortable and attractive hat of this style (ear flaps). I bought 2 of them because they were on sale but I think they are high quality and will last like 10 to 15 years. I haven't tested the water resistance yet. The bill is big and protects your face a bit more than a baseball cap but it's a winter hat! It feels medium weight but very warm so far for the beginning of winter in NY. I will update as winter rolls on. This is a great value for the money. The size was accurate.

According to the measurements, I am a size small. I am a petite woman with a peanut head and long hair. Small was too snug, almost like a child’s hat. Medium fit with some extra space, but the way the bill was shaped and its stiffness made it dig into my forehead a bit. Large was perfect and comfortably roomy. I don’t like my hats so tight that I get hat hair when I remove the hat. The chin snaps keep the hat in place, so it won’t blow away from the wind. The bill keeps snow and rain off of my face. The hat is very warm and thick; the ear flaps protect my ears from the wind and cold. Overall I am very happy! I am keeping the black, but also ordered the camel color. The camel one was labeled khaki and was more of a medium to dark brown. I am returning the camel hat that isn’t really camel colored.

Title says it all. After trying 3 hats that didn't fit right or were low quality, this one meets my requirements. It's comfortable and the ear flaps have snap strips attached so you can snap them in the up position or under the chin. Really does the job keeping my head and ears warm. It even has two strings to tighten the hat if needed, so you aren't stuck with the natural size.The only issue is how tough it is to tighten the drawstrings and make a knot. They are silky feeling and thin, so it's hard to make a bow tie knot.

Great "lightweight-ish" hat that works just fine in cool to "cold-ish" weather conditions. This being said, I would not consider this hat ideal for any temperatures lower than say mid twenty degree temperatures with minimal wind. On the plus side, the XL size which I ordered fits nicely on my head (measuring 23"), maybe being even a little "generous". The fact that it can be adjusted with the string inside the back of the hat makes it a perfect fit for me. As I said, this is not a hat designed for extremely cold temperatures and in my case, I like that. It does not make my head sweat, and is very comfortable, even wearing it all day. The earflaps are also generous--easily covering my rather large ears. The chin strap works great having snaps vs. Velcro (which can wear out over time). I like this hat so much, that I intend on ordering a second one (one for working around the yard, etc., and one for wearing while I am out and about at our local outdoor market, etc. I highly recommend this hat!

Love this hat! I bought this warm hat for a trip to New England in the winter; it’s gets down to 15 degrees Fahrenheit or colder with the wind, and this hat held up great. It kept my head warm, and the ear flaps also kept my ears from going numb. I bought a large size since others said they run small; I’m 5’7” with a “normal” size head and the large fits perfect. I’d buy it again if I ever lost this hat.

This hat is my favorite winter hat. It’s made well. It’s warm but most important is that it’s adjustable! Most hats are one size fits most or s/m or l/xl and they never fit quite right. I ordered this one in small and it has a string adjustment inside so you can adjust it to fit comfortably. I have 2 of these in different colors. They look good too!

I ordered the 'camel' colored hat, which should be close to beige/khaki. The item arrived a darker brown (dsepite having a tag that claims "khaki"), so only order 'Camel' if you actually want it in brown. Not close to the picture. Brown still works for me, a hat is a hat, and it is very plush and warm (albiet with cheaper, synthetic feeling outer material), but there is a huge inconsistency with the pictures and colors that are provided.

I cannot give this hat enough stars. The hat is offered in different sizes but it also has an inside cinch cord to make the hat smaller if it sits a little loose. It covers the entire ear and goes down the nap of the neck, it’s lightweight but warm. It has simple to close snaps for under the chin big or small folks will be able to snap closed in one of three possibilities. It has a bill like a baseball cap that is posable. The bill is important because it can cut down glare , keep snow, wind and rain off your face. I’ve wanted a trapper hat for years but they were all almost comical looking. This is the perfect trapper hat for all humans. Even if we don’t like each other we’ll always agree that this is the best hat in all of humankind ❤️😎
