Based on classics, yet original on its own
Designed by Paul Huson, the Dame Fortune's Wheel Tarot takes inspiration from classic tarot decks, but includes a fully illustrated set of Minor Arcanas. Huson's artwork is reminiscent of the Tarot of Marseilles, although he uses softer lines than the classic woodcut look. He also employs colors in a striking way, which at a glance, may be a turn off for some collectors. On the making of the Major Arcana, Huson drew inspiration from the Marseilles, and Estense deck. Unfortunately, I'm unfamiliar with the later deck. I do recognize a Visconti-Sforza influence on The Wheel of Fortune that shows a wheel surrounded by people on top, bottom and sides and a blindfolded women within its center. Also, the Cary-Yale Visconti gets a nod on Death that shows a skeleton with a scythe at hand on a horse, and The World that shows a woman on top of the sky of a kingdom. However, there is a card that I cannot attribute to either Marseilles or Visconti traditions; Strength that shows a woman breaking a column. Each Major Arcana is labeled in English at the bottom, and numbered with roman numerals within the imagery, generally towards the top of the card. The exceptions are The Fool, which is unnumbered, and Death, which is unlabeled. In addition, The Magician, The Hierophant, The High Priestess, and Strength have been renamed (restored?) to The Juggler, The Pope, The Female Pope, and Fortitude, respectively. A mixture of yellow and green is associated with these cards.Huson used the interpretations of Etteilla to generate the imagery for the Minor Arcana, which remains consistent with the Major Arcana. Each card is labeled in English at the bottom. The Court Cards, with the exception of the Knights, are also labeled within the imagery. For example: The Kings of Coins, Cups, Batons and Swords are labeled Alexander, Charle Magne, Caesar, and King David, respectively. Also, green, indigo, blue and red are associated with the suits of Coins, Cups, Batons and Sword. This deck includes an additional card, The Significator intended for Tarot readings. This cards resembles an unnumbered Major Arcana. According to Huson, The Significator was "adaptated from a 16th century manuscript illustrating the astrological rulership of the zodiacal signs over parts of the human body".I recommend this deck for tarot collector who would like to own a fully illustrated Marseilles/Visconti-inspired deck. It comes in a fitting box and includes a Little White Book.

A Winner Deck!
I've been reading tarot for almost 30 years and have owned many decks - most of which were bought in curiosity or for the beautiful artwork. However I've been using the same deck for 25 odd years for my professional readings, initially drawn to the deck (Barbara Walker) due to it's strength and dynamism. The matching book is also great for information.I was asked to order the Dame Fortune Deck by a friend who kindly suggested I open it up and have a look at the deck before sending it on. Huson is a trusted resource for me so I figured the deck would be pretty good. However as soon as I started looking through the cards, I was hooked. They liked me and I liked them. After all this time, to be drawn to another deck as much as to my devoted deck was surprising to say the least. The imagery is strong and the deck feels powerful, solid and ready to work with the reader. These cards TALK. Needless to say I re-ordered for my friend.I most definitely recommend getting Huson's book - Mystical Origins of the Tarot. A fine resource chock-a-block full of information. An excellent background to the Tarot. It certainly gave me some wonderful insights that have enriched my experience with the Tarot generally but in particular with the Dame cards.I absolutely recommend this deck as well as the book - Mystical Origins of the Tarot: From Ancient Roots to Modern Usage by Huson, Paul published by Destiny Books Paperback

Beautiful, One of a Kind Deck!
There is no other deck like this one. Paul Huson is a master- these are well conceived, and incredibly created cards.Don't expect a clone of Pam's deck (as good as hers is) for this one stands alone. Also notice the color scheme for the pips, and the playing card symbols on them. Brilliant! And usable by readers of any tradition.Fortunately, it is not encumbered by the multi language card titles Lo Scarabeo often uses. The card stock is perfect, and there is a handsome, extra, Significator card. The LWB is very good, and if combined with his beautiful Dame Fortuna Book, and his epic Mystical Origins of the Tarot, you have all the info you'll ever need to give sharp readings. Paul Huson is an incredible writer as well.

Cool deck
Cool deck 79 cards significator card included. A little different take on tarot. There’s an extra book you can get but the lwb is pretty accurate. Short but straight forward. I was hesitant to get this deck but I like it. The other book is by Paul huson as well. Recommend if you want something different.

Bright and beautiful.
The cards are good. A little thin for my taste, but standard card stock for a mass market deck, so no real complaints. I immediately trimmed the borders off to make the images stand out, and much prefer it now. I’m looking forward to using and studying this deck further.

Sevizio amazon veloce e perfetto come sempre

Vibrant!
l love this tarot very much, its colourful, the images are great and really speak to me. It will lift your intuition to a new level. The meanings are a little different to the usual Rider Waite but it does not matter as this deck will tell you everything. It comes with its own LWB of meanings to help you on your way. It does mention the french Etteillia method of using the cards and if you want to follow that you can get a book written by Paul Huson who is also the creator of this tarot. For myself l just read the cards and let them speak. The characters are very expressive and the scenes are wonderful in setting the scene.Though l have smallish hands l find it shuffles well. Would recommend this tarot, its different.
