My 10yo son got this set for Christmas this year and he loves it. He already has several of the Super Mario LEGO sets and this is a great addition to the collection. These sets are really neat because they are themed to Mario but expandable. And these sets are not overly priced. One of the other benefits that he loves is the interactivity of the Mario character on some of the marked blocks in this set to cause Mario to react with changes in appearance and sound. So it's not only a LEGO set but it's kinda like a game too. We love this set especially because of the character reference to the Super Mario 2 Nintendo game. I love the lego Mario series. It's so cute. I see a lot of people complaining about having to download the app for instructions but honestly the app is free and its pretty cool. It keeps track of your coins, and makes a Lego mario land from the sets you have you can upload pics of you mario courses and it saves them also. You can also see other people's mario lands. Lego probably made it so we had to get the app so we could get the full mario Lego experience. Its pretty awesome. 100% would recommend. And definitely will be buying more sets. Aslo the power up suits are so cute. Lego really hit it out of the park with this series.

This is a great addition and first set to get after the main Lego Mario starter set. The interactive Lego Mario have music and sound effects. Pokey is easy and quick to rebuild. Kids love it!

The Lego Mario series is a blast, but crazy expensive. This is one of the more fun sets for playing in the app and it is much cheaper than a lot of the others. Must-have if you are building a desert-themed Mario challenge

My 5 year old son is obsessed with the Mario Lego sets. Be sure to purchase the STARTER SET! Or the expansion sets will be useless.He spends hours building, creating and setting up new sets. Loads of fun, lots of options. This set was easier and faster to build than other larger sets, but having the expansions really adds to the courses he can build. Highly recommend.

1 star for easy to assemble ONLY because it came without instructions... found them online but it was odd to not have them included... othet wise once we got those figured out its quite fun!!

This set was nostalgic for me! It plays the music from the desert levels of Mario 3. My son has played with it for over a week and shows no signs of slowing. He has a large amount of the Lego Mario sets and this by far has been his favorite. Highly recommend to Lego lovers!
