In terms of the "one of the most common ingredients in bibimbap", that used to be true but not anymore. It is distantly related to ginseng and korean cooking shows have been extolling its health benefits so its gotten far more expensive than it used to be, when its only description was "mountain vegetable". Add the fact that it takes three years to get to the harvestable size, and its no longer a common ingredient in bibimbap, and it never was for any bibimbap served in the US. However I have purchased two packages in the last year+ and neither have had any insects in it. The last time I have bought a food product with live insects in it was in the 90's when I bought a bag of brown rice from an Asian market. At first I thought the brown things might be small stones which I have had experience with and had picked out by hand, but when they started moving I realized that was not the case. Never bought brown rice from an Asian market again unless it was from Japan.

This is mushy once rehydrated, it’s inedible and I can’t return it. 0 stars if it were possible.

Had actual live insects in it. A ton of small flea looking things, crawling around. I didn’t take pictures or anything because I was too busy throwing out the entire bag.Yikes.

It doesn’t say where this products come from, I certainly don’t want to buy product of China, I assume since you didn’t reveal, it is from China, I will not buy again.
