It works well for soups. I really bought it to aid in taking pills, my hands are no longer shaped to hold more than one pill at a time. These work well for medicine and supplements.

The kids love using these spoons for eating soup (they helped the kids actually FINALLY start eating soup), and their now favorite soup dumplings.

The spoons are definitely not red, as indicated in the description. They are more of a brownish-rusty hue. I wouldn't normally care about the color, but they are actually unattractive, and far from the stylish red/black shown in the photos. I wanted these spoons not just for their functionality but also as decorative pieces, so I'm sending them back. If your only concern is functionality, then I'm sure they are fine.
