I ordered this unit because it would have been ideal for my requirements.The product arrived promptly and was well packaged in a plastic envelope within which was a sturdy box which was not sealed. On unpacking the charger my initial view was that it is a well thought out design, not too large but functional. The cables on the unit are of a length that are satisfactory, but could perhaps be a little longer (unfortunately I did not measure them before returning unit for reasons explained later). The unit is quite light and very easy to handle.On connecting the unit to the car battery first, the unit display lit up and told me my battery was at 40%. I then connected the unit to the mains supply and turned on the power. Nothing happened. The display was still active, but I could not select any modes or hear the on board cooling fan working. After switching the power on and off several times and disconnecting and reconnecting the battery clamps and also despite leaving the unit 'on' for an hour or so, I concluded the unit was in fact faulty. On closer inspection I noticed that the display screen had several scratches (I had assumed these were on the protective film covering the panel, but on removal of the film the scratches were still evident. This indicated to me that the unit MAY have been a customer return from previously, maybe not. It may have become scratched at the production stage. In all other respects the unit looked fine, just inoperable.The Amazon return system is excellent, so I returned the item very easily and instead of asking for a replacement unit I received a full refund within a few days.I may have been unlucky and got the only faulty unit around. The unit itself is a decent enough design, quite practical and would be easy to use. I feel that a working unit would be a great asset to a toolkit, promising ease of use and not taking up too much room.Update: It seems the unit may in fact have been OK. I have since learnt that if a battery charge falls below a certain level, these 'digital' chargers cannot start charging, and you then need the old fashioned type of charger to 'pre-charge' the flat battery to a level where the 'digital' charger can then work. Seems to defeat the objective.

Should have a slow/trickle charge setting.

My battery keeps going flat due to lack of use of my car in lockdown. I looked at many products but this charger offered faster charging and additionally a repair option when compared to others in this price bracket. Very easy to use ( I don't know anything about car maintenance). Liked that it told me on display how charged the battery was.

Great little charger, needed for my old Z3 which gets very little use. I don't like to leave a charger on all the time but this one shows you at each stage, condition of battery and amount of charge being made, and actually turns itself off when battery is full...so could be left on I assume.Good value at under £20 for a charger with so many features.

Very nice. dead simple . Just connect it up and forget . I brought mine to keep the battery charged on my classic car . The really good thing is it will charge lithium batteries too , which is useful to me as I have a none charging dirt bike with lithium battery

This charger is easy to use and can be used for so many batteries. Can be left on the car as a trickle charge in the colder months. Good purchase.
