I Love Math PowerPack

The I LOVE MATH (ILM) power pack is an OK buy, but not great. At least it didn't cost much. Be prepared for incompatibility issues with your PC's operating system. I had to hunt around online awhile before I found a patch for a video driver. It's not completely evident if I changed my OS or if I changed the ILM software. So far nothing has blown up on other programs on my computer, and the DVDs now work.The ILM title DVD has some good things going for it. The user can choose to work with geometry, measurement, counting, or fractions, and can choose the level of difficulty. You can also choose to do arithmetic problems to "fix" your spaceship, and that's a lot more fun that the old flashcards of my youth. The overall "story" of a brother and sister destroying the world by eliminating math doesn't appear to be relevant to much of what you do in the games. Which actually is OK with me. The story that starts the DVD is lame.The Fractions DVD is modeled after a sportscast. Some of the "events" are nice - the baseball event introduces the idea of fractional equivalents (1/4 = 2/8). The long jump is a little lacking - the player must estimate a fractional distance of the jump pit, and for younger players the margin for error is pretty narrow which decreases their desire to keep playing it.I haven't compared many other math DVDs, so this could well be top-of-the-line, but if it is the best that's out there I'm definitely going to find non-computer ways to keep my son interested in math during his early elementary years!

I absolutely love the idea of this pack. I think it could've had everything I needed, for a computer learning day.However, these programs will not run on my 2014 windows computer. Bummer

This was a waste of my money and my time if I could return it I would in a heartbeat !!! I only gave it one start because I had to .... It's dated and doesn't even work . I feel cheated that they even still offer this
