Great for sensitive stomachs, avoid the fish flavors (smell) and even makes your dog poop less! You also use far less.
Our McNabb Border Collie has a bizarrely sensitive stomach when it comes to dog food. She can only eat very limited ingredient dog foods, no matter the cost, or she has near-constant diarrhea. Been that way since she was a puppy. Wellness simple has always been easy on her stomach, and she eats it happily (I can't report for picky eaters, because she'll eat anything she can fit in her mouth)In addition to being great for her sensitive stomach, there are some other perks to using a limited ingredient, grain free dog food. Since this stuff is so nutritionally dense, you don't use as much dog food, which also means that this stuff comes out as being nearly as cheap as the cheaper stuff. A 45lb dog normally eats about 2 cups of cheap food a day. Our dog maintains her weight (and the vet confirmed this is correct) with HALF that. literally half a cup twice a day and she maintains her weight. We give her another 1/3 cup if she's had a particularly active day.The other great thing is that your dog doesn't poop as much! our dog only needs to go once a day, sometimes even every other day. Her stools are very dense (again, checked with the vet, this is normal) and since she doesn't go as much, it makes picking up poop much better, to boot!If you can afford it, I do believe the zignature brand food is even higher quality (and my dog absolutely goes berserk for the kangaroo formula) with the same perks, but since I do have to live on a budget, wellness simple is the least expensive quality dog food that keeps my pup from riding a diarrhea rocket into low earth orbit. My only suggestion is to stick with the lamb and turkey based flavors. The duck and fish smell EXTREMELY strongly, so you have been warned.Amazon currently sells this stuff for upwards of $20/bag cheaper than petco/petsmart.

Great for my allergy prone dog!
One of my dogs had pretty severe allergies and was getting ear infections and itchy skin all the time. It was so frustrating. I started making her food with venison and she did great! Unfortunately, the person who provided us with venison passed away and I wasn't able to find another good source. After finding my dog was allergic to beef and chicken, the vet put her on a great medicated food that was incredibly expensive... So I started reading around and stumbled across the Simply Wellness Salmon and Potato formula. It was cheaper than the medicated food by a mile and had no wheat (another allergy), no chicken, no beef. It had fish (which she could eat). I was so happy to find it on amazon because where I live it costs about $30 more than on Amazon! I save a lot of money buying it here (I go through two bags a month between my two dogs). My second dog is seizure prone. The vet and I had discussed medication for her, but we were hesitant to put her on the meds since the seizures were random and infrequent. We agreed that if her seizures got worse then we would revisit the medication issue. After reading what I could on dog seizures, I found an article talking about how thyroid issues and food allergies can contribute to seizures in dogs. So I switched her over to the new food as well. She hasn't had a seizure in almost a year, but I don't know if that is because of her food or if because she just hasn't had one (again, they were infrequent and random, but she did have at least one every few months so we are still ahead!). It worked for my dog, but please don't base any vet decisions off of it (obviously!).At any rate, I'm very pleased with this dog food. I recommend it to anyone I know. :)

Good product
I bought this for my dogs when my regular food was unavailable. Two of the three dogs didn't like it, but one loves it. He kept his weight, his coat looks good. I continue to add some to his regular food. *** I will say this food, if you add water, bulks up a lot. I would not feed it dry and then let your dog drink a lot of water. I would soak it first for several minutes, let it expand, then feed it. Otherwise, you run the risk of it expanding in the stomach, which will cause issues.

The media could not be loaded. My 7year old 75 pound Doberman recently had knee surgery, which caused him to not be as active as he normally is. I swapped out to this kibble to help with weight maintenance. He’s been eating this brand for the past few years and has done really well with this it.I feed him 1 cup in the morning and an additional cup at night. He’s a very picky eater, so I do need to put a bit of wet dog food on the top to get him started-but once gets going he finished without issue. This kibble has a very mild scent, is easy to chew and digest. It stores well in my dog kibble bin.I will likely swap back out to his regular kibble once he is back to his normal activity but I highly recommend this brand for dogs who need nutritionally dense, low calorie kibble
